  • Patent number: 6911495
Abstract: A process for the continuous preparation of addition-crosslinking silicone rubbers from a base composition containing at least one polyvinyl polysiloxane and at least 10% by weight, based on the liquid silicone rubber, of hydrophobicized filler, by removing the base composition from a container whose volume reduces proportionally with the amount removed, and conveying the composition by way of a pump with a positive pressure difference to two further pumps (4) which convey the base composition onward, so a component A is prepared continuously by admixing at least one metal catalyst with one stream of the base composition, and a component B is prepared continuously and simultaneously by admixing the crosslinker and inhibitor with a second stream of the base composition, where the metal catalyst, crosslinker, and inhibitor are fed by way of a feed unit which meters in each of the substances.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 23, 2003
Date of Patent: June 28, 2005
    Assignee: Wacker-Chemie GmbH
Inventors: Thomas Hierstetter, Johann Schuster, Gerhard Skroch, Helmut Woehrl

  • Patent number: 6218495
Abstract: A three-stage process for the continuous preparation of RTV-1 compositions comprises, in a first step, preparing a raw mixture of &agr;,&ohgr;-dihydroxypolydiorganosiloxane, filler and, if desired, further constituents, in a second step, freeing the raw mixture of gas inclusions under reduced pressure and, if desired, mixing it with further constituents and, in a third step, mixing the degassed raw mixture with a crosslinker, a condensation catalyst and, if desired, additional constituents not yet added in the first and second steps.
