  • Publication number: 20220134274
Abstract: A device for separating a gas stream which has a compressor and three membrane separation units in series, connected to pass the retentate stream of each of the first two units to the subsequent membrane separation unit, comprises conduits for recycling the permeate streams of the second and the third membrane separation unit to upstream of the compressor and a control device controlling the fraction of the second permeate stream which is recycled. Adjusting which fraction of the second permeate is recycled can be used to maintain a target composition of the retentate obtained in the third membrane separation unit when the flow rate or the composition of the gas stream changes.

  • Patent number: 8741993
Abstract: The invention concerns an improved process for producing high performance polyolefin member. The process comprises the steps of preparing a solution comprising a polyolefin and a solvent, extruding or spinning the solution into an air gap to form a fluid member, cooling the fluid member to form a solvent-containing gel member, and removing at least partly the solvent from the gel member to form a solid member before, during and/or after drawing the member. Furthermore, the process involves the presence of an antifoaming agent comprising an aryl sulphonic acid or an alkyl naphtyl sulphonic acid. The invention further concerns the geltruded polyolefin member comprising aryl sulphonic acid or alkyl naphtyl sulphonic acid.

  • Publication number: 20100230351
Abstract: The invention relates to an hydrophilic membrane comprising a membrane carrier and a hydrophilic coating with good properties. The coating may comprise covalently bound inorganic-organic hybrid material; or the coating may comprise ring-opening polymerized components like epoxy resins. The coating composition preferably is applied in a solvent, the solvent is evaporated, and the coating is cured with UV radiation. The hydrophilic membrane is very useful in water purification, and in other applications.

  • Publication number: 20030211184
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process for isolating polyphenolic antioxidants from purine-containing plant material, comprising the steps of: (a) extracting the plant material with a hydroxylic extracting liquid preferably at low temperature; (b) selectively adsorbing the extract obtained in step (a), preferably at low temperature; and (c) desorbing the adsorbed material with a hydroxylic desorbing liquid, preferably at relatively high temperature. The process is especially suitable for producing cocoa antioxidants for use in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and nutritional compositions.

  • Patent number: 6506433
Abstract: Described is a method for recovering aroma concentrate from a caffeine- or theobromine-comprising food base material, such as coffee or tea, and in particular cocoa, at least including the steps of: introducing the food base material into an aqueous extractant and incubating the food base material at a suitable temperature and for a suitable period, substantial extraction of the aromas taking place to form an aqueous food extract, pervaporating the food extract using a hydrophobic pervaporation membrane to form a food aroma permeate, recovering the permeate to obtain the aroma concentrate. Also described are food concentrates obtainable via the abovementioned method.
