    Abstract: The present invention provides a welding wire container lid contains a surface portion, a vertical portion extending downward from the surface portion at an end of the surface portion, a protrusion portion extending upward from the surface portion, and an elongated opening which extends from the protrusion portion onto the surface portion near the vertical portion. The opening has two sides opposite each other, where a first of the sides follows a contour of the surface portion and the protrusion portion and a second of the sides has a contour which is different from the contour of the first side.
