  • Patent number: 11035082
Abstract: A fabric (10, 20, 30) adapted for the reinforcement of constructions such as of roads or pavements has a fabric width W2 in a transverse direction. The fabric (10, 20, 30) comprises a carrier (12, 22, 32). The fabric further comprises reinforcement elements (14, 24?, 24?, 34) extending over the fabric width and being fixed or bound to the carrier (12, 22, 32). The carrier (12, 22, 32) has a carrier width W1 that is smaller than the fabric width W2 so that the reinforcement elements (14, 24?, 24?, 34) protrude out of the carrier (12, 22, 32). The advantage is that when two neighbouring fabrics (40, 44) overlap, it is possible to avoid a double layer of carriers.

  • Publication number: 20140295207
Abstract: A textile structure for the reinforcement of a polymer material The invention relates to textile structure (100) for the reinforcement of a polymer material. The textile structure comprises in a first direction a number of bundles arranged in mutual substantially parallel position. The bundles comprise n metal filaments. The bundles have a main axis and a non-circular cross-section. For each of the bundles, the n metal filaments of a particular bundle are arranged predominantly parallel with the main axis of this particular bundle. The structure further comprises elongated positioning elements (106) to hold the bundles in mutual substantially parallel position and to hold the n metal filaments of a particular bundle predominantly parallel with the main axis of the bundle. The invention further relates to a method of manufacturing such a textile structure and to the use of a textile structure for the reinforcement of a polymer material.

  • Publication number: 20140220332
Abstract: An impact beam (70) comprises a polymer matrix and a reinforcing structure, the structure further comprises a number of metal reinforcing cords (11) and non-metal elongated binding elements (13) or non-metal coated elongated binding elements arranged between the cords for holding the metal reinforcing cords together. Part of the non-metal elongated binding elements is positioned at the exterior surface of the impact beam in order to keep the metal reinforcing cords away from the surface of the part. The impact beam may also comprise a non-steel distance keeper (66) being positioned at the exterior surface of the impact beam in order to keep the metal reinforcing cords away from the surface of the part. The non-steel distance keeper can either be a non-metal coating on said metal reinforcing cords or non-metal elongated binding elements (55) arranged between the cords for holding the metal reinforcing cords together.
