Abstract: The invention relates to a paper sheet containing grit particles giving it, in use, a high abrasion resistance. It is characterized in that it contains grit particles coated in a non-abrasive material, in particular in a polymer. According to the invention, the particles are chosen from alumina, silica, boron nitride, silicon carbide, titanium carbide, tungsten carbide, zirconium oxide, cerium oxide, glass and ceramic particles, or mixtures thereof. The invention also relates to the laminates containing it, as well as to the processes for manufacturing the sheets and the laminates.
