  • Patent number: 4844214
Abstract: The straps connecting the lid of a brief case and the outer panel of an expansible portfolio are adjustably connected to the outer panel through a track and buckle arrangement. The buckle is ordinarily locked in place on the track by a locking element spring urged into engagement with a complementary locking element on the track. A button connected to the buckle locking element allows the user to overcome the force of the spring and slide the buckle along the track to adjust the associated strap. The locking element and the spring are integrally formed components from a unitary molded plastic part which is carried by the buckle casing.

  • Patent number: 4381585
Abstract: A clamping self locking collar includes a split ring, an actuating lever, and a buckle. The lever engages one end of the clamping split ring and the buckle is associated with the other end of the ring. The lever coacts with the buckle in an overcenter manner to positively lock the clamping collar around an article of a predetermined size. The various elements of the collar are produced from a single injection moulding step and are kept together prior to assembly by the inclusion of frangible connections and flexible filaments. No tool is necessary for installation of the clamp or for ensuring safety and intensiveness of the clamping.

  • Patent number: 4368999
Abstract: The invention relates to a coupling or connecting end part for a flexible element such as a cable, wire or other element, whatever the cross-section thereof. In accordance with the invention, the part is formed from two separate portions forming a whole with the flexible element when assembly is completed. The first portion is a cage receiving the flexible element and includes laterally at least one extending flexible strip normally projecting outside of the cage. A second portion being a slider being adapted to be slid over said cage, in order to urge said strip inwardly, so that a portion of the strip is embedded in the flexible element. The device has means provided to produce effective locking of the slider on the cage. The invention is applied to the fastening of parts on flexible elements such as cables, wires or other elements.

  • Patent number: 4354722
Abstract: This invention is a terminal connector device for electrical wires and comprises a flap member movable under the action of an actuating button, which flap is interposed, in a biased position, between a terminal entry member and a wire receiving support. The withdrawal of said flap from this interposing position, under the action of said button, permits the introduction of the wire whose connecting is obtained automatically by lateral wedging of the wire inserted into said receiving support by the action of said flap, when the button is released. The button is lockable to hold said flap in its retracted position permitting introduction of the wire, which position also enables the disconnection of a previously positioned wire.

  • Patent number: 4277196
Abstract: The invention relates to a fixing device for securing any part to a holding member. The fixing device comprises spreadable means in a hole or bore formed in the holding member on the one hand, and on the other hand spreading means. An actuating means is provided to drive the spreading means into the spreadable means so that depending on the length of penetration of the spreading means thereinto the fixing device can be blocked on the holding member and accommodates any thickness variations of said holding member. The invention is used to secure by means of a screw or rivet any part on a holding member such as a panel.

  • Patent number: 4218954
Abstract: Fastening device of plastics material for a round hole, designed to receive a screw enabling mounting with a high gripping torque and this even in thin sheet metal. It includes a principal element capable of becoming clipped in a round hole of a support and a complementary element which is engaged in the upper portion of the first element. A mounting screw passes through the element and becomes self-tapping in the lower portion of the body. The advance of the screw causes, at the same time, the descent of the wedge and the reascent of the low portion of the principal element, which results in gripping expansion of the whole within the hole. The invention can be used for the mounting of any parts by means of a screw in a member clipped in a round hole with high gripping torque.
