  • Patent number: 11516561
Abstract: The automated remote reading of fluid meters implemented in a system includes fluid meters, each measuring a consumption of fluids, and at least one gateway. Each gateway can exchange frames in accordance with a wireless communication standard with a plurality of meters via a first communication network, and to communicate with a management entity responsible for processing, in a centralised manner, information representing a consumption of fluids, referred to as readings, coming from meters via a second network. The method comprises for each gateway: defining meter reading periods for a set of meters paired with said gateway, the gateway being on standby outside each period and awake during each period; successively interrogating each meter in said set during each period in order to obtain a reading, each meter waking up at the start time of each period and going on standby as soon as it has transmitted a reading.

  • Patent number: 11477692
Abstract: Some protocols for the transmission of data on a communication network, such as the LoRaWAN protocol, use frames comprising payloads intended to transport useful data, the size of which may vary from one frame to another. A communication method is proposed in order to transmit data on this type of network. This method is based on a division of a payload packet into a set of blocks and then an insertion of the blocks thus formed into at least one segment. Each segment comprises a number of blocks suited to a payload size at the time of creation of the segment. The segments are next supplemented with verification information enabling an addressee of the data packet to determine whether it has received all the blocks. In the event of non-reception of all the blocks, the sender of the blocks retransmits at least the blocks not received.

  • Patent number: 11477174
Abstract: A modem of a smart electricity meter obtains, following a registration in the powerline communication network of the ad hoc type, routing information and encryption information, by exchanges of messages in the powerline communication network. The smart electricity meter saves in non-volatile memory the routing information and the encryption information, the routing information being saved in association with information representing an instant at which the backup is made. At the time of a subsequent re-registration of the smart electricity meter following a disconnection of the powerline communication network, the smart electricity meter retrieves the routing and encryption information previously saved in the non-volatile memory, updates it by deleting any route information that is no longer valid, and uses it to communicate in the powerline communication network.

  • Publication number: 20220303647
Abstract: A gateway acts as an intermediary between a plurality of smart fluid meters and an information system responsible for collecting metering index readings made by said smart fluid meters. The gateway is connected to the information system by a first communication network, and the gateway is connected to first smart fluid meters from said plurality by means of a second long-range radio communication network, said first smart fluid meters being able to act as relays for second smart fluid meters by means of a third short-range radio communication network. The gateway selects one or more first smart fluid meters as relays, according to the battery charge levels obtained, and configures the second communication network accordingly.

  • Patent number: 11402417
Abstract: A centralising meter is connected to a data concentrator via a first powerline communication network and to remote basic meters via a second powerline communication network. The centralising meter emulates a smart electricity meter application with respect to the data concentrator for each remote basic meter, in order in particular to construct a corresponding load curve. When the ratio of an energy consumption declared by all the remote basic meters to an energy consumption measured by the centralising meter is below a predefined threshold and when furthermore a plurality of load curves show a drop to zero, a fraud is detected. The centralising meter compares total energy consumptions estimated from extrapolations of certain load curves with the measured energy consumption, to identify which remote basic meter is subject to the fraud.
