  • Patent number: 6568043
Abstract: The collar is formed by rolling up a strip (10). First fastening means formed by a hook (14) projecting radially are located at a first end (10A) of the strip, while second fastening means comprising a retaining element (12) projecting radially and suitable for constituting with said hook to close the collar are located at the second end (10B) of the strip. The free edge (14A) of the hook is suitable for being engaged beneath a rim (13) formed to project radially outside relative to the collar in the vicinity of the retaining means (12) while the retaining means are engaged beneath the hook so as to close the collar. The hook is preferably formed by an embossed projection regardless of whether or not the rim (13) is present.

  • Patent number: 5918350
Abstract: A clamping collar constituted by a rolled-up first metal strip portion referred to as an "inner" portion and having two radial folds in the vicinity of one of its ends forming a "lug", and by a second strip portion referred to as an "outer" portion, which is fixed at its first end to the outside face of the inner portion, which has an undulation forming a reserve of resilience, which is provided at its second end with a hook suitable for engaging behind the lug while the collar is being clamped, and which includes an "intermediate" part situated between the undulation and the hook and extending substantially along the periphery of the inner portion which thus has a covered zone covered by said intermediate part. The collar includes first and second abutment means formed respectively on the intermediate part of the outer portion and on the covered zone of the inner portion and suitable for co-operating with each other to set a limit on use of the reserve of resilience.

  • Patent number: 5496074
Abstract: A quick connector is provided for connecting a tube inserted into a connection element. The tube includes an annular swell spaced at a distance from its end. The connector housing of the connection element is provided with a locking member and locking ring elastically deformable in a radial direction between a free state configuration and an unlocking configuration. The outer periphery of the connector housing has two cylindrical parts separated by an axial stop. The locking ring abuts the axial stop. A locking lug is connected to the locking ring and includes a front ramp with a transverse slot. A spacer deforms the locking lug in a radially outward direction to the unlocking configuration. When the tube is fitted in the connection element, the front ramp of the locking lug cooperates with the swell of the tube to move the lug apart. When the tube has been fitted in the connector and the slot is at the axial level of the swell, the locking lug approaches its free state configuration.
