Publication number: 20180244269Abstract: A device and a method for controlling vehicle speed in a vehicle equipped with cruise control when the vehicle is travelling downhill. The method involves driving a vehicle downhill with the cruise control set to a first brake set speed value; detecting a current vehicle speed; applying a brake torque using at least one auxiliary brake to maintain the first brake set speed, which brake torque is dependent on a currently engaged gear; detecting a manual request for a downshift from a currently engaged gear to a lower gear, in order to decrease vehicle speed; and determining if a downshift is permissible at the current vehicle speed.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2015Publication date: August 30, 2018Applicant: VOLVO TRUCK CORPORATIONInventors: Tobias CARLSSON, Anders ERIKSSON, Lars KARLSSON, Henrik ANDERSSON

Publication number: 20180244247Abstract: A device and a method for controlling vehicle speed in a vehicle equipped with brake cruise control when the vehicle is travelling downhill are provided. The method involves driving a vehicle downhill with the brake set speed set to a first brake set speed; detecting a current vehicle speed; automatically applying a brake torque using at least an auxiliary brake to maintain the first brake set speed; and detecting a manual application of a vehicle service brake, in order to decrease vehicle speed. If a control unit detects that the driver is applying the service brake, then the control unit is automatically arranged to set the brake set speed to a second brake set speed that is lower than the first brake set speed; and to apply a brake torque using at least the auxiliary brake if a detected current vehicle speed exceeds the second brake set speed.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2015Publication date: August 30, 2018Applicant: VOLVO TRUCK CORPORATIONInventors: Tobias CARLSSON, Anders ERIKSSON, Lars KARLSSON, Henrik ANDERSSON

Patent number: 7771657Abstract: A system, device and method for detection of several individual analytes in a test solution aliquot (83) with an array of individually operated piezoelectric crystal microbalances are described. The system comprises a connecting station (100) that receives a plurality of individually specific piezoelectric crystal microbalance flow-trough cells (10), each containing a piezoelectric crystal (50) carrying electrodes (56,62) and a coating (66,46) exposing a first member of an interaction pair specific for an individual analyte being a second member of the interaction pair. Flowing means (70) flows a solution (75) and the test solution aliquot (83) to and through a cell compartment of each of the cells (10) via the connecting station (100). Power and measurement means (130) oscillate the piezoelectric crystal(s) (50). A change in oscillating characteristics of the crystal(s) (50), following interaction between the first and second members of the interaction pair, detects presence of the individual analyte(s).Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2003Date of Patent: August 10, 2010Assignee: Biosensor Applications Sweden ABInventors: Per Månsson, Henrik Andersson, Jan Smith, Kjeld Jensen, Teodor Aastrup

Publication number: 20090123324Abstract: A method and cast wear resistant component made of an alloy that includes carbon, tungsten, chromium, and cobalt with the balance essentially iron and other alloying components made using waste, surplus or worn-out cemented carbide product, such as cemented carbide cutting tool inserts. In one method, the alloy further includes silicon, manganese, nickel, titanium, and molybdenum. In practicing the method, pieces of waste, surplus or worn-out cemented carbide product having tungsten carbide (WC) are added to a cast iron alloy melt. The melt includes enough chromium to control solubility of the WC. In one method, precipitated carbide structure having chromium and carbon is produced with tungsten in the melt being substitutionally dissolved. In one implementation, tungsten is substitutionally dissolved in a lattice of the precipitated carbide structure. Carbide can be added to the melt via super inoculation. The cast wear resistant component can be a cutting tool.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2008Publication date: May 14, 2009Inventors: Carl-Hakan Andersson, Mikael Andersson, Henrik Andersson, Helena Andersson, Anders Nilsson, Jan-Eric Stahl
