  • Patent number: 11997695
Abstract: A terminal device for a wireless communication network is configurable with a plurality of transmission time intervals. An example method comprises: receiving a grant message comprising an indication of radio resources in which the terminal device can transmit one or more wireless messages, the radio resources being configured according to a first transmission time interval of the plurality of transmission time intervals; determining the presence of data to transmit, the data being associated with a logical channel; determining a maximum transmission time interval associated with the logical channel; and, responsive to a determination that the maximum transmission time interval associated with the logical channel is less than the first transmission time interval, transmitting a scheduling request message. The scheduling request message is configured according to a second transmission time interval of the plurality of transmission time intervals, shorter than the first.

  • Publication number: 20240073990
Abstract: Systems and methods for User Equipment (UE) context retrieval and data forwarding to support Small Data Transmission (SDT) are provided. In some embodiments, a new network node can request an old network node for UE context retrieval and data forwarding if the UE in RRC_INACTIVE state sends small data to the new network node. In some embodiments, the old network node decides whether to relocate the anchor for UE context to the new network node or rejects the relocation. The request includes either or both of (a) an indication that the UE context retrieval is related to a SDT performed by the UE and (b) UE assistance information that informs the old network node that the UE has started a SDT procedure.

  • Publication number: 20240057185
Abstract: According to an aspect, a UE in an uplink split-bearer configuration is configured to transmit PDUs by a first RLC entity via a first uplink transmission path and/or by a second RLC entity via a second uplink transmission path. The UE determines a total amount of data volume from PDCP data volume and RLC data volume pending for initial transmission in the two RLC entities. The UE decides whether submission of PDCP data volume is allowed to either of the two RLC entities or to only the first RLC entity, based on whether the total amount of data volume meets or exceeds a first threshold. The UE also reports the PDCP data volume to both the first and second uplink transmission paths or only the first uplink transmission path, based on whether the total amount of data volume meets or exceeds a first threshold.

  • Patent number: 11849420
Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method for synchronous control of timing configurations includes operating a wireless device according to a first timing configuration associated with a first delay duration for transmitting feedback to a network node. A second timing configuration associated with a second delay duration for transmitting feedback to the network node is received from the network node. The second delay duration is different from the first delay duration. In response to a first downlink transmission from the network node, a first feedback is scheduled for transmission at a transmission time determined based on the second delay duration associated with the second timing configuration.

  • Publication number: 20230379905
Abstract: A method of controlling an indication of user data in a buffer of a User Equipment (UE) is provided. The user data is for Small Data Transmission (SDT) when the UE is in inactive mode. Based on a threshold value related to an amount of the user data for SDT, the UE determines whether to include an indication into a first uplink grant allocation transmission. The indication would indicate that user data is in the buffer. When an indication of user data in a buffer is not included in the first uplink grant, this indicates that the amount of data left in the buffer is less than the threshold value minus the first allocated grant transmission size, and when an indication of user data in a buffer is included, the indication indicates how many further transmissions are needed for transmitting the rest of the pending data.

  • Publication number: 20230371066
Abstract: A method performed by a user equipment (UE) for handling communication in a wireless communications network is described. The UE obtains an indication of a first size of a grant for a first type of data transmission and transmits an access request to a radio network node to perform data transmission of the first type of data transmission. Then the UE receives a grant from the radio network node. The grant indicates a size for granted data transmission, or comprises a type indication of type of data transmission of the granted data transmission. The UE compares the first size with the indicated size in the grant, or the first type of data transmission and the type of data transmission indicated by the type indication in the received grant and based on the comparison, determines whether to use the received grant for performing data transmissions or not.

  • Publication number: 20230354412
Abstract: A method performed by a wireless device (130). The method is for handling uplink communication to a network node (111, 112). The wireless device (130) and the network node (111, 112) operate in a wireless communications network (100). The wireless device (130) obtains (401) a configuration from a first network node (111). The configuration configures the wireless device (130) with a set of uplink time-frequency resources to perform random access for data transmission in inactive mode. A size of a buffer for the data transmission of the wireless device (130) is smaller than a threshold. The set of uplink time-frequency resources are allocated in at least one second bandwidth part (BWP). The at least one second BWP is different from a first BWP already allocated to the wireless device (130).
