  • Patent number: 11540681
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner having a hand unit and an elongated member having a nozzle end portion and a handle end portion. The vacuum cleaner has a valve arranged at the nozzle end portion, the valve having a valve member being movable between a first and a second position. In the first position the valve member directs an airflow from a floor nozzle to the hand unit while preventing an airflow to flow through the handle end portion. In the second position the valve member directs the airflow from the floor nozzle to the handle end portion and to the hand unit. Vacuum cleaning may be performed with the floor nozzle both when the hand unit is connected at the nozzle end and at the handle end.

  • Patent number: 9924836
Abstract: A mixer appliance having a base unit and a container unit. The base unit has a motor with a drive shaft. The container unit has a container and a rotor with a rotor shaft and a rotor element. A coupling arrangement connects the drive shaft and the rotor shaft when the container unit is connected to the base unit. A longitudinal axis extends through the drive shaft, coupling arrangement, and rotor shaft. The container unit has a bottom portion with a flexible diaphragm and a bearing member. The bearing member is supported by the flexible diaphragm, and the rotor shaft extends through the bearing member. The flexible diaphragm provides flexibility perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis, such that the bearing member is displaceable perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis to align the rotor shaft with the drive shaft along the longitudinal axis when the container unit is connected to the base unit.

  • Patent number: 8910748
Abstract: The present invention relates to panels that can be used to cover interior surfaces in buildings, for instance in auditoriums, open-plan offices etc., where the panels can be used in buildings with thermally activated building systems (TABS) in which balancing of acoustics and thermal comfort is a well-recognized challenge. According to a first embodiment of the invention there is provided a panel comprising one or more sound-absorbing elements (3) and sub-regions (7, 8, 9) that connect the front (11) of the panel with the rear (12) of the panel, and in which sub-regions (7, 8, 9) sound-absorbing elements (3) are not present, whereby said sub-regions (7, 8, 9) ensure thermal transmission through the panel.

  • Patent number: 8385436
Abstract: A method includes obtaining data to be transmitted wirelessly and detecting if any transmitting devices having a higher priority are currently using at least one of multiple wireless channels. The method also includes transmitting the data wirelessly over the multiple wireless channels in a first specified manner when no transmitting devices having the higher priority are detected. The method further includes transmitting at least a portion of the data wirelessly over the multiple wireless channels in a second specified manner when at least one transmitting device having the higher priority is detected. The data could normally be transmitted using OFDM. When a higher-priority transmitting device is detected, at least a portion of the data could be transmitted using a reduced transmit power and a reduced constellation size and/or larger error correcting code. One or more wireless channels associated with one of two quadrature components could also be suppressed.

  • Patent number: 8351871
Abstract: A method includes receiving a first wireless signal and demodulating data in the first wireless signal using a first demodulation technique. The method also includes receiving multiple second wireless signals simultaneously (where the second wireless signals interfere to produce an interfered signal) and demodulating data in the interfered signal using a second demodulation technique. The method could also include (i) determining that a single transmitter transmitted the first wireless signal and selecting the first demodulation technique in response and (ii) determining that multiple transmitters transmitted the second wireless signals and selecting the second demodulation technique in response. Determining that the single transmitter transmitted the first wireless signal could include determining that a fundamental frequency of the first wireless signal is below a threshold.
