  • Patent number: 11789187
Abstract: A multilayer Laue lens (MLL) that can be operated over a large range of wavelengths which is achieved by providing a lens blank comprising a substrate element extending in a plane defined by orthogonal axes x, y, z, with a layered structure deposited on the upper surface with at least two different materials that are layered upon one another in an alternating manner, wherein the y-extension of the layered structure is constant along the x-axis and varies along the z-axis within a ramp section where the y-extension of the layered structure increases from a starting point, where first particles of material of the layered structure are deposited on the upper surface of the substrate element, to a saturation point, where a maximum y-extension of the layered structure is reached; and slicing a lens out of the lens blank.

  • Publication number: 20220357265
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a system comprising the device for bunching of sample particles. The device comprises a body, a fluid channel extending through the body, an acoustic wave guide embedded in the body, and an acoustic wave condenser embedded in the body. The fluid channel forms a fluid path the body, such that the fluid channel is configured to guide a flow of a sample fluid, in which sample particles are distributed, through the fluid channel along the fluid path. The wave guide is configured to guide an acoustic reference wave to an application region of the fluid channel. The wave condenser is configured to generate a standing acoustic wave in the application region from the reference wave for bunching the particles.

  • Publication number: 20180348091
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a device for the transport of biological or other samples and for analysis thereof by interaction with a pulsed and focused energy beam, comprising: a transport capillary configured to house transport liquid, configured with an outlet section; a nozzle disposed concentrically and externally to the transport capillary, wherein said nozzle comprises a discharge section; and wherein the space between the transport capillary and the nozzle is configured to house a stabilizing gas; at least a first electrode for connecting a voltage to the transport liquid, in turn connected to a second electrode arranged at the outlet of the transport liquid capillary and the nozzle wherein said electrodes are subjected to an electrical potential difference. The disclosure also relates to a method comprising the use of said device.

  • Publication number: 20060087738
Abstract: An asymmetric-cut multilayer diffracts EUV light. A multilayer cut at an angle has the same properties as a blazed grating, and has been demonstrated to have near-perfect performance. Instead of having to nano-fabricate a grating structure with imperfections no greater than several tens of nanometers, a thick multilayer is grown on a substrate and then cut at an inclined angle using coarse and inexpensive methods. Effective grating periods can be produced this way that are 10 to 100 times smaller than those produced today, and the diffraction efficiency of these asymmetric multilayers is higher than conventional gratings. Besides their ease of manufacture, the use of an asymmetric multilayer as a spectral purity filter does not require that the design of an EUV optical system be modified in any way, unlike the proposed use of blazed gratings for such systems.

  • Publication number: 20050276370
Abstract: A system for x-ray imaging of a small sample comprising positioning a tamper so that it is operatively connected to the sample, directing short intense x-ray pulses onto the tamper and the sample, and detecting an image from the sample. The tamper delays the explosive motion of the sample during irradiation by the short intense x-ray pulses, thereby extending the time to obtain an x-ray image of the original structure of the sample.

  • Patent number: 6203127
Abstract: A track assembly for a skid steer type wheeled vehicle comprises a series of identical track segments, with each of the segments having a wheel or tire retaining flange depending from opposite ends thereof. Each flange has a pair of connecting lugs or tongues extending in one direction (e.g., in the direction of travel), with a single connecting lug extending in the opposite direction. Each lug or tongue pair is positioned to sandwich an opposing single lug or tongue therebetween from an adjacent track segment. Thus, each of the segments connects directly to another identical segment, with no intermediate connecting links being required. The interconnecting lugs or tongues extend straight from their respective flanges with no lateral offset, thus precluding any bending loads upon the lugs and producing a pure shear force across each connecting bolt or pin. The lugs or tongues are preferably hardened for greater durability, with the assembly including bushings for greater bearing area.
