  • Publication number: 20020083912
Abstract: A system for supporting and moving a valve stem of a poppet valve, the poppet valve being adapted for use a valve seat in an internal combustion engine. The system includes an electronically actuated solenoid that accepts the valve stem theretrhough, and which moves the valve stem in response to an electrical signal. Additionally, a spring that is mounted over the electronically actuated solenoid engages the valve stem, so that the stem is supported by the spring against the valve seat.

  • Publication number: 20020033776
Abstract: A base for an antenna to be mounted on a surface. The base includes a flexible base plate, the flexible base plate having a perimeter and support mounts mounted near the perimeter of the base plate. A mounting base having an outer housing and an inner block adapted for supporting the antenna are mounted over the flexible base plate and within the perimeter of the flexible base plate, so that when mounted on a vehicle surface the flexible base plate accommodates the surface of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6314932
Abstract: A system and method for supporting a valve stem of a poppet valve that is held in a normally closed position by a valve spring, the poppet valve being adapted for use in an internal combustion engine. The system includes a valve guide insert with a body having a first end, a second end, an aperture extending between the first end and the second end, an external surface having a protrusion near the second end. The first end of the guide will preferably include a threaded portion which will cooperate with a nut to provide tension to the valve guide insert. The system also includes a spring seat that includes a thermal barrier adapted for mounting about the stem and for accepting the valve spring, so that the spring may be placed over the thermal barrier and connected to the stem, allowing the stem to be supported by the spring and the valve guide insert.

  • Patent number: 6313800
Abstract: An adjustable antenna for receiving broadband signals. The antenna includes a first elongated antenna rod that is held next to a second elongated antenna rod in a parallel orientation to the first elongated antenna rod. The antenna rods are supported by a clamping or supporting device that allows the two rods to be slid relative to one another so that the antenna may be tuned to a particular frequency. Electrical contacts to the rods are also provided to allow transmission of the collected signal to a desired device.

  • Patent number: 6005518
Abstract: A cable leakage detection system to be placed in a moving vehicle for monitoring signals leaking from a coaxial cable network. AM and FM RF detectors are combined with a global positioning system, a microprocessor, a storage device, a display device, and an antenna to unambiguously measure the radio frequency signal strength of an RF leak. The leakage detection system can indicate whether the leak is occurring in the left or right side of the vehicle. An operator can, by observing the unique display, determine whether the received RF energy is a leak from the coaxial cable system or a spurious signal from some other source. The cable leakage detection system can unambiguously detect an RF leak and store the vehicular leakage index, the RF signal level, the distance from the coaxial cable, the frequency of the signal, the geographic location, and the time of the detected leak.
