    Abstract: A racquet for ball games, and in particular, a tennis racquet, includes a grip (2) and a head with a striking surface, in which the head is arranged to rotate to a limited degree in relation to the grip (2) about the longitudinal axis (7) of the grip (2). Spring and damping elements are fitted between the grip (2) and the head, and specifically, spring elements (13) and damping elements (14) are arranged in axially spaced pairs in the direction of the longitudinal axis (7) in each of a plurality of recesses (12) extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis (7) of the grip (2, 10) between the grip (2) and the shaft (5, 6) of the head in order to enable effective spring and damping of the torsional and longitudinal vibrations of the racquet (1) in the grip region.
