  • Patent number: 11978335
Abstract: A method includes receiving, by a first computing device (110) and from a second computing device (118), using a short-range wireless communication unit of the first computing device (110), data including state information of the second computing device (118) and identification information for the second computing device (118). The method also includes, responsive to a distance between the first computing device (110) and the second computing device (118) satisfying a threshold distance, determining a particular template graphical user interface from a plurality of template graphical user interfaces. The method also includes determining one or more operations the second computing device (118) is configured to perform. The method further includes outputting a graphical user interface (114) associated with the remote computing device (118).

  • Publication number: 20220053078
Abstract: In general, the subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods, devices, and program products for modifying interactions between a mobile device and a peripheral device based on proximity. The mobile device monitors a wireless communication channel and receives a transmission from the peripheral device over the channel indicating that the mobile device is located within a first zone of proximity to the peripheral device. The mobile device determines distance values between the devices. When the mobile device determines that a distance value satisfies a threshold value, the mobile device visually indicates that it is within a second zone of proximity to the peripheral device. As a result of the mobile device receiving data from the peripheral device using a second communication protocol, the mobile device determines that it is located within a third zone of proximity to the peripheral device, and performs an action.

  • Patent number: 10687136
Abstract: The disclosure provides for an audio accessory that includes earbuds or earphones, an input device, and a processor. The input device includes a first button and optionally includes additional buttons or touch sensors. The processor is configured to initiate an action when a first input is received at the first button, provide audio updates when a second input is received at the first button, and prepare the input device to receive audio input when a third input is received at the first button. Also, the processor is configured to silence a currently playing audio message and initiate playing a next audio message when a fourth input is received at one of the buttons or the touch sensors, and silence and mark the currently playing audio message for no further playback when a fifth input is received at one of the buttons or the touch sensors.

  • Patent number: 3966646
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a body comprising the steps of forming a single strip of material with at least one plain region and at least one region of protrusions, such as corrugations, bumps or ridges. The single strip of material is then laid on itself in a manner so as to provide two or more layers of the material and locate a plain region of one layer alongside a region of protrusions of an adjacent layer. The laying step may be accomplished by winding the strip into a coil.
