  • Patent number: 4656851
Abstract: Fiber optic sensors are used at one or more of the top pin and spring asslies in a pin tumbler lock to sense either authorized or unauthorized attempt to open the lock. A fiber optic switching element, in a simple capsule form, can be installed in new or existing locks. Fiber optic circuitry signals surreptitious attempts to open the lock.

  • Patent number: 4609215
Abstract: A hydraulic locking boltwork system includes a hand operated rotary actua hydraulic pump and a plurality of hydraulic cylinders in which each cylinder rod drives a deadbolt into the door frame including the top, bottom, and/or sides. Hydraulic devices are plumbed into the system to block hydraulic lines and lock the system, and an alarm triggers and/or activates automatic relocking devices.

  • Patent number: 4587817
Abstract: A locking system that consists of two locking mechanisms protected by a dl resistive shutter plate. The shutter plate can be rotated to expose a first lock which when unlocked allows it to be further rotated to uncover the second lock. Upon unlocking the second lock, the drive for the main bolt lock can then be actuated.

  • Patent number: 4562706
Abstract: A torsion spring longitudinally rotates a locking bolt when the bolt actung linkage is severed. A woodruff key or the like is upstanding from a surface of the bolt. When the linkage is undamaged, the key slides with the bolt through a slot on the lock frame. When the bolt is rotated by the spring, it is locked in the rotated position by a locking pawl. In the rotated position, the key is out of registry with the slot and the bolt cannot be withdrawn from its extended, locking position. A second embodiment replaces the key with a recess in the bolt into which a locking pawl engages to prevent movement of the locking bolt.
