  • Patent number: 9273535
Abstract: A hydraulic time delay system and method in a wellbore tool is disclosed. The system/method includes an actuation mechanism which allows pressure to act on a functional piston in the wellbore tool. The movement of the piston is restrained by a partially or filled reservoir which is allowed to exhaust through a flow restriction element. The restriction element comprises standard metal tubing with a known inner diameter and is cut to an exact length as predicted by fluid dynamic modeling. A time delay and rate of piston movement desired for the downhole tool, between a trigger event such as pressure and a functional event, can be tuned with parameters that include the length and diameter of the tubing, reservoir fluid viscosity and number of tubes in parallel. In another embodiment, a secondary plugging element added to the reservoir controls the rate of piston movement and time delay.

  • Patent number: 9016600
Abstract: A pepper spray gun assembly having a trigger valve for dispensing a non-lethal spray, such as a pepper spray. The assembly includes a storage cylinder for receiving a non-lethal spray charge and a smaller pre-charged charging cylinder for engaging the storage cylinder. The charging cylinder is fluidly coupled to the storage cylinder so as to provide a regulated gas in the head space of the storage cylinder. When the trigger of the trigger valve is operated, the regulated gas will force the charge to be expelled through the nozzle of the trigger valve assembly.

  • Patent number: 8998159
Abstract: A locking device for preventing unauthorized retraction of a telescopic prop is made up of an adjustable clamp which can be fitted round the outer circumference of the prop together with a fastener for tightening the clamp, such as a nut and bolt with anti-tamper heads and a shield to prevent access to the head with a gripping instrument. The device can be placed around the outer circumference of an extended prop adjacent to the collar such that once the clamp is tightened the collar is sandwiched between the locking device and the pin. Alternatively the device can be placed around the outer circumference of the inner tube of the prop adjacent to and abutting the end of the outer tube of the prop in order to prevent unauthorized retraction of the prop.

  • Publication number: 20090078321
Abstract: A gas pressure regulator comprising a housing. The housing includes a regulator cap and a regulator body. The regulator cap and the regulator body engage one another through the use of bayonets on one of the regulator cap or the regulator body and pockets on the other of the cap or body. The regulator housing includes a piston having a piston stem in a piston head. The piston stem has a channel and a seat seal on a removed end thereof, the channel for carrying gas to the piston head. The piston head also engages a piston spring. The regulator housing also includes an adjustable seat for receiving a high pressure compressed gas at one end and providing it to the piston stem at a second end. The adjustable seat is adjustable, such that when it is adjusted away from the piston stem, higher cutoff pressure is required than when it is closer.
