Abstract: A head up display arrangement for a motor vehicle includes an image source providing images. Optics are then positioned to provide a reflection of the images such that the virtual images are perceived by a driver of the vehicle to be aligned with a road that is visible through a windshield of the vehicle. A force-detecting device detects a magnitude of a force exerted on the driver in a lateral direction from turning of the vehicle. An electronic processor adjusts, based on the magnitude of the force exerted on the driver, the virtual images and/or a position of the HUD Optics.

Abstract: An electronic switch for a device in an automotive vehicle comprises an input pad mounted in an interior of the automotive vehicle, the input pad comprising a sensing mechanism operable to generate a plurality of control signals associated with a plurality of sensing positions of the input pad. The electronic switch further comprises a controller in communication with the input pad and the device, the controller configured to actuate a plurality of switch control functions of the device in response to the plurality of control signals.

Abstract: An information display assembly for an automotive vehicle includes an instrument cluster and a mounting unit. The mounting unit supports the instrument cluster in a forward interior location of the vehicle. The instrument cluster is orientable with respect to the mounting unit for optimal viewing by an operator of the vehicle. The internal location of the mounting unit is selectable by the operator.

Abstract: A validation system is disclosed for validating an entity with whom a user intends to trade or exchange electronic information, for example over the Internet. The system includes validation means which are operable to obtain status details of the entity from third party validation sources, such as a certification authority, commercial register or the like, and indicator means operable to indicate the obtained status to the user substantially in real time. The system preferably also includes means operable to determine the security of the communication medium between the user and the trading entity, in which case the indicating means is operable to give an indication of the security of the communication substantially in real time. The indicator is preferably a visual indicator, for example provided on a computer monitor, and consists, for example, of a series of colour signals each indicative of a level of trustworthiness, preferably a “traffic light” type set of signals.
