    Abstract: An expansion card bracket and a method for manufacturing and utilizing the expansion card bracket. The bracket includes a primary surface that is adapted for mounting the bracket into a computer chassis. The primary surface is complemented with an appendage that extends rearward from the rear face of the primary surface. The appendage is formed such that it attaches to the expansion card at a recessed point and provides support to the primary surface of the bracket.

    Abstract: An expansion card for a computer and a method for configuring the expansion card, where the expansion card includes a main card body, a daughter card, and a bracket. The main card body includes a coupling portion for coupling the expansion card to an expansion slot of the computer. The main card body further includes a connector area that is accessible from both the first and second face of the expansion card. The daughter card is coupled to the main card body on either he first or second face of the main card body, wherein the coupling configuration is determined based on the computer system chassis in which the expansion card is to be mounted The daughter card includes a connector that couples to the connector area of the main card body. The bracket is coupled to the main card body and the daughter card and facilitates mounting the expansion card in the computer chassis.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a universal peripheral interface comprised of control logic circuits for a plurality of peripherals carrying different signals on different pins of respective peripheral connectors, a single interface connector for mating with any of the peripheral connectors, a first multiplexer for interfacing any of the control logic circuits with the single interface connector and for switching particular lines of each of the control logic circuits carrying particular signals to particular pins of the single connector, and apparatus for controlling the multiplexer to map the lines to the particular pins of the single connector.
