  • Patent number: 4848459
Abstract: A packer setting tool, a packer assembly and an attached liner assembly are lowered into a well bore at a desired depth to fix the liner therein. Cement is pumped down a tubing string, through the packer, the lining, check valves and forced upwardly in the annulus of the well bore. The pumped cement is followed by a non-setting liquid to clear the internal tubular structure. The packer assembly is then set in the wet cement of the annulus to provide an additional fluid seal in the well bore. The packer setting tool is released and the cement is allowed to harden and fix the linear and the packer assembly within the well bore.

  • Patent number: 4830103
Abstract: A packer setting tool is disclosed for providing quick and reliable release thereof from a well casing packer. The setting tool is adapted for lowering the packer assembly within the casing. The setting tool is rotated by a drill string to release an upper set of packer assembly slips into engagement with the well casing. The packer setting tool is then lifted, thereby deploying a rubber sealing boot and setting the upper and a lower set of slips into permanent engagement with the casing. The packer setting tool is then again rotated, whereupon a shear connection is released and the setting tool can be removed from the packer and out of the well bore.

  • Patent number: 4449736
Abstract: A connector for releasably securing an upper section of a tubing string to a lower section includes a tubular housing containing a retaining sleeve with a collet telescoped therein and having a plurality of spring fingers interlocked with a mating section on a tubular stinger. A shoulder on the stinger serves to engage the top of the retaining sleeve and move it into a release position when setting down on the tubing string with the lower section of the string anchored in the well. The retaining sleeve is held in this position by catch means acting between the sleeve and the housing and thereby locates a recess in the sleeve to allow the spring fingers of the collet to release from the stinger as the latter thereafter moves upwardly when pulling the upper section of the tubing string from the well.

  • Patent number: 4355443
Abstract: A bowl and slips assembly for supporting tubing in a well includes a plurality of gripping inserts supported on slip bodies by means of a cantilever connection with the inserts hang-supported from the top surfaces of the bodies so the bodies are in compression when supporting tubing in the well. In comparing adjacent slip bodies, one includes a shoulder formed in the top surface thereof so adjacent inserts are supported in vertically spaced positions. A safety ledge integrally formed with each body prevents broken inserts from falling into the well.

  • Patent number: 4317407
Abstract: A well swab cup has an annular bushing for supporting a plurality of longitudinally extending wire reinforcing members within an elastomeric cup-like body. The reinforcing members are supported by a base cup around the lower portion of the bushing and extending upward within the body. An internal elongated hollow reinforcing member extends upward from the base cup within the pattern of the wire reinforcing members and within the elastomeric, cup-like body.

  • Patent number: 4254962
Abstract: A well swab cup has an annular bushing for supporting a plurality of longitudinally extending wire reinforcing members within an elastomeric cup like body. The reinforcing members are supported in a base cup around the lower portion of the bushing and extend upward to a mid-portion of the body. Approximately one half of the reinforcing wire members extend the full length of the swab cup and the others terminate at a mid-point of the swab cup's length within its elastomeric body.
