The multilevel DC-DC converter may be the first stage and the fixed voltage ratio, unregulated DC-DC converter may be the second stage converter. Alternatively, the fixed voltage ratio, unregulated DC-DC converter may be the first stage and the multilevel DC-DC converter may be the second stage.
