Publication number: 20100273591Abstract: A spring element that is designed for a flexible drive of an internal combustion engine. The spring element has a cylinder, in which a piston is guided in a linearly displaceable manner, a force being applied to the piston by spring means. Corresponding fixing eyes are respectively allocated to the cylinder and the piston for fixing the spring element. A transverse pin is associated with the piston to limit the travel of the spring element. The pin engages in a positive fit with backlash in a longitudinal guiding element of the cylinder.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2008Publication date: October 28, 2010Applicant: SCHAEFFLER TECHNOLOGIES GMBH & CO. Patent number: 5391341Abstract: For the manufacture of quickly drying dip coats whose drying time is comparable to the drying time of shells produced on the basis of alcoholic binders, the process uses as a binder for the dip a dispersion of aqueous colloidal silica sol to which synthetic high polymers and/or an emulsion from the group of silicon-organic compounds is formed which after drying is impermeable to water but permeable to water vapor.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1992Date of Patent: February 21, 1995Assignees: Heinrich Ballewski, Herbert Graf, Wolfgang GrossmannInventors: Heinrich Ballewski, Herbert Graf, Wolfgang Grossmann

Patent number: 5379178Abstract: In the case of a method and a device for triggering an electromagnetic consumer (1), which is connected in series to a switching means (2), the voltage applied to the switching means (2) is fed to a voltage comparison means (12) and compared there to the voltage of a reference voltage source (13). Dependent upon this voltage comparison, an output signal is produced at the output terminal of the voltage comparison means (12), which serves to switch over a suppressor device (4).Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1993Date of Patent: January 3, 1995Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Herbert Graf, Juergen Schwenger, Werner Zimmermann, Bernd Wichert, Thomas Bielesch

Patent number: 5335136Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic circuit arrangement for triggering excitation windings of electromagnetic components, provided with supplementary circuit elements, in particular free-running circuit elements, preferably solenoid valves (MV.sub.1 to MV.sub.n), whereby in order to provide a flexible open-loop control, the components are each connected in series to a controllable contact element (3). To reduce the degree of complexity of the circuit, the manufacturing price and the space requirement, it is proposed that the connecting terminals (1, 4) of this series connection lead directly, and the connections (2) between the components (MV.sub.1 to MV.sub.n) and the contact elements (3) lead via diodes (D.sub.1 to D.sub.n), respectively, to a collecting point (A, B, C), to which collecting points (A, B, C) is linked one and the same supplementary circuit-element configuration (T.sub.F,C.sub.L,10,11) shared by all components.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 1993Date of Patent: August 2, 1994Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Johannes Locher, Herbert Graf, Nestor Rodriguez-Amaya, Alfred Schmitt, Joachim Tauscher, Werner Zimmermann

Patent number: 5267546Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling the flow of fuel for a gasoline or diesel gasoline engine controls a solenoid valve for actuating the fuel pump. A pump piston is driven by the camshaft and, in turn, pressurizes the fuel for delivery to the individual cylinders. Based on the operation of the solenoid valve, the beginning of the injection of fuel and the end of the injection of fuel are established Based upon spaced angular markings on the camshaft, a control unit determines the trigger signals for actuating the solenoid valve. To calculate the trigger signals, the markings on the camshaft are counted and interpolated therebetween over time. The interpolation is based on the instantaneous rotational speed N of the camshaft, which is sensed immediately before performing the interpolation.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 1992Date of Patent: December 7, 1993Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Hans-Joachim Siebert, Nestor Rodriguez-Amaya, Joachim Tauscher, Herbert Graf, Werner Zimmermann, Alfred Schmitt, Pierre Lauvin, Anton Karle

Patent number: 5245501Abstract: A process for controlling and measuring the movement of an armature of an electromagnetic switching member with an excitation coil is proposed, which has the following steps: a current (i) or a voltage (u1) is applied to the excitation winding (3) in order to move the armature into a first actuatable position; before the start of the movement of the armature, the current or the voltage is raised above a value at which the armature remains in the actuated position, and before termination of the movement of the armature the current or the voltage is reduced to a defined value, which suffices to hold the armature in the actuated position; finally, the temporal variations in the current or the voltage are measured after setting of the defined value, for the purpose of recognizing the termination of the armature movement.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1991Date of Patent: September 14, 1993Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Johannes Locher, Hans-Joachim Siebert, Herbert Graf, Nestor Rodriguez-Amaya, Anton Karle, Alfred Schmitt, Joachim Tauscher, Werner Zimmermann, Dominique Buisson, Lucien Hehn, Pierre Lauvin, Henri Paganon

Patent number: 5217673Abstract: A process and an arrangement are disclosed for the removal of a low-melting embedding body from a higher-melting embedded component. A groove is provided along a molding-in base of the component and by means of the widening of the groove via heatable elements, the resulting halves of the embedding body are removed. The process and the arrangement are particularly suitable for separating embedded guide and moving blades from the manufactured embedding body.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1991Date of Patent: June 8, 1993Assignee: MTU Motoren- und Turbinen-Union Munchen GmbHInventors: Horst Pelz, Armin Klier, Herbert Graf

Patent number: 5042434Abstract: The invention is directed to a control apparatus cooling system which includes a control apparatus arrangement for an internal combustion engine. The control apparatus arrangement is set into operation by an ignition contact signal. The control apparatus arrangement is cooled with the aid of a coolant loop which has a pump motor. A self-holding circuit is provided in the control apparatus arrangement and supplies the pump motor and a voltage stabilization with voltage to drive a microcomputer as soon as the ignition contact signal appears. The cooling of the control apparatus arrangement is not terminated immediately when the ignition contact signal ceases; instead, the pump motor continues to run until it is assured that components having conventional temperature resistance cannot become damaged in the control apparatus arrangement by overheating because of stored heat. The microcomputer determines when the switch-off condition is satisfied.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1990Date of Patent: August 27, 1991Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Herbert Graf, Jurgen Schwenger, Werner Zimmermann, Johannes Locher

Patent number: 4851832Abstract: The invention relates to a control device for vehicular street traffic, including a signal disc which consumes very little energy. This signal disc is provided with signal webs separated by deep grooves and with a diffusely reflecting color coating. Pivotal slats are disposed in a frame in front of the signal disc. If the signal disc is displaced with respect to the frame, the slats are pivoted upwardly and push themselves completely into grooves. The signal disc is therefore visible at any observation angle. At dusk or at night, the signals may be given by suitably disposed, dot-shaped, colored light sources in the form of light emitting diodes.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 1987Date of Patent: July 25, 1989Inventor: Herbert Graf
