  • Patent number: 6441532
Abstract: A rotor for a high-speed electrical machine is specified, which rotor is composed of a stack of several thick solid disks axially lined up next to one another, the solid disks having a defined pressing surface at their end faces, and tie rods passing through the stack in the axial direction in the region of the pressing surfaces. In this case, the tie rods press the solid disks against one another at the pressing surfaces. Furthermore, in order to save weight and material, a central, rotationally symmetrical recess adjoining the marginal region of each solid disk is provided on at least one end face of the solid disk.

  • Patent number: 6029338
Abstract: In a binding (19) for winding overhangs (20) of rotors (1) of electric machines, essentially comprising a plastic matrix with fibrous material embedded therein, the binding (19) is formed by winding a fiber tape (15) onto the winding overhang (20). The plastic matrix is composed of a thermoplastic. Furthermore, a method is described for applying the fiber tape to the winding overhang of an electric machine.

  • Patent number: 4544855
Abstract: A gas-cooled a.c. machine having a rotor and a stator, each in the form of sheet metal packs, and a winding head, wherein in order to obtain optimum cooling of the rotor sheet metal pack, the stator sheet metal pack and the winding head, the machine is constructed of a stator central part and two stator end parts and ducts are provided in the casing corners for the removal of the cooling gas. The ducts are bounded only by the walls of the casing and the back of the stator sheet metal pack, are separated by the stator sheet metal pack, and extend over the total length thereof. Cooling gas conveyed by fans is first conveyed into the inner winding head chamber or the rotor inlet flow chamber and there divided into two cooling circuits connected in parallel. In a first cooling circuit, the cooling gas is led through the rotor sheet metal pack and through the stator sheet metal pack, and in the second cooling circuit through the winding head.

  • Patent number: 4528469
Abstract: An electrical alternating current machine having a stator sheet metal body defining an external contour of a regular n-sided polygon or a circular sheet metal shape. The radial and axial restraint of the sheet metal pack occurs by means of casing walls, tension rails (23) and end plates. The air is conveyed in the electrically unused casing corners. The sheet metal pack, together with the casing walls and end plates, form a compact self-supporting constructional unit with reduced shaft centerline height for a given power.
