  • Patent number: 7367133
Abstract: In a device and a method for coordinate measurement, a probe head generates a switching signal in response to contact with a workpiece. The device includes position-measuring units for each coordinate axis to be measured, with the aid of which the relative position of the probe head is measurable; and a processing unit, which operates in a discrete-time manner in time intervals of a controller clock signal. For coordinate measurement, position-measuring values are measured in time intervals of a probing clock signal, which is generated by a probing clock generator and has a higher frequency than a controller clock signal of a processing unit. The position-measuring values are stored in a position-data memory. A time span between a pulse of the controller clock signal and the occurrence of the switching signal at the switching probe head is measured in a time-measuring unit.

  • Patent number: 7092108
Abstract: A method for position determination that includes generating first and second position-dependent scanning signals, transmitting the first and second position-dependent scanning signals from a scanning location via corresponding first and second scanning channels to corresponding first and second storage elements, storing corresponding first and second instantaneous values present at the first and second storage elements at corresponding first and second storage times. Forming a measured position value from the first stored instantaneous value and the second stored instantaneous value. A difference exists between corresponding first and second transit times of the first and second position-dependent scanning signals in the corresponding first and second scanning channels, the difference is compensated by individually delaying the first and second position-dependent scanning signals, so that the stored first and second instantaneous values have appeared at a common time at the scanning location.

  • Patent number: 6912476
Abstract: A method for position determination in a position measuring device that includes digitizing analog position data from a detector unit within time intervals of an internal clock rate and calculating position data from the digitized data. Determining a period of time ?t between a pulse of the internal clock until an appearance of an external trigger signal and a processing of at least two position data, together with the period of time ?t.

  • Patent number: 6057598
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and apparatus capable of efficiently combining a logic circuit die with a memory circuit die in a single integrated circuit device capable of supporting memory intensive applications, such as 3-dimensional graphics rendering, encryption and signal processing. The logic circuit die is produced independently with a logic circuit fabrication process that optimizes the logic circuit's performance and reduces costs, and the memory circuit die, which may contain a large memory circuit, can be produced independently with a memory circuit fabrication process that optimizes the memory circuit's performance and reduces costs. The circuit dies are attached directly together in a flip-chip fashion to create a unitary integrated circuit assembly having a high-performance, low impedance, wide-word interface.

  • Patent number: 4015141
Abstract: Apparatus for comparing voltages with predetermined upper and lower threshold levels is described. A single differential circuit is connected to a junction point in a first voltage divider, which determines one of the above threshold levels. The differential circuit produces a first output signal level when that threshold value is exceeded. A transistor is connected to a junction point of a second voltage divider, which determines the other threshold level, as to have its conducting state controlled thereby. The transistor is rendered conductive when the other threshold level is exceeded switching the output signal.

  • Patent number: 3978283
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for facilitating reception of direct current signals in telegraph or data transmission systems is described. A threshold circuit is disposed in the receive line; the threshold circuit has two threshold values, one of which is close in current value to the cut-off of the signal element, and the other of which is close in current value to the signal level of a signal element. A timer is switched into the circuit by a signal provided over a logic circuit when a first threshold level is undershot in a descending signal transition and when a second threshold level is exceeded during an ascending signal transition. The timer emits a clock pulse to an output circuit, which has been primed by an input circuit, the operation of which are controlled by signals from the outputs of the threshold circuit.

  • Patent number: 3967137
Abstract: A circuit is disclosed for providing a digital representation of the magnitude and polarity of current signals using only a single threshold device. A series connected pair of current converters, one of which includes a pre-set threshold, are connected with rectifier means poled to allow passage of current of a single polarity. A second rectifier means poled to pass the current of opposite polarity is connected to pass such current only to the current responsive device with threshold means, bridging the second current device. An accurate digital representation is thereby obtained, with minimal component outlay.

  • Patent number: 3936700
Abstract: An overcurrent-protection network for a transmission line logic system is disclosed, including a line switch in said line subject to over-current conditions and an added threshold-responsive logic element whose output in response to detection of over-current conditions triggers said protected logic elements to open said line switch via a over-current condition responsive gate whose output supplies a control signal to the line switch. A supplementary network is provided to reclose said switch; this may comprise a time-delay mechanism for resetting a bi-stable element whose output controls said switch after a reasonable interval. Alternatively, the supplementary network may comprise a resistor bridging the switch to maintain minimal current flow to said protected logic elements, which thereby are responsive to the next succeeding change in line current or signal, to change state and re-close said line switch, thereby restoring initial conditions.
