  • Publication number: 20020175022
Abstract: In a muffler device (1) of a motor vehicle, with mufflers (2, 3) and actuator (4) for changing the flow resistance to the exhaust gases flowing through, in order to change the damping characteristic, it is proposed to provide the actuator (4) in a flow branch (5) having an inlet (6) and two outlets (7, 8), each outlet (7 or 8) being connected via a pipe (9 or 10) to a muffler (2 or 3), and the throughflow cross section (D) of the inlet (6) being variable by means of the actuator.

  • Publication number: 20020005318
Abstract: A valve in an exhaust gas muffler device of a motor vehicle with exhaust gas conducting openings connecting the interior of a housing of the muffler device to outward of this housing in which one of the housing openings can be closed with a closure element situated within the housing and displaceably mounted on the housing. When the opening is closed, the closure element sealingly abuts on the edge of the opening. The displacement axis of the closure element runs perpendicularly with respect to the plane of the housing opening, and the closure element is coupled to a positioning motor.

  • Patent number: 5685548
Abstract: A track-chain link has a pin extending along and defining an axis and having a pair of ends and a radially outwardly directed cylindrical outer surface and a bushing coaxially surrounding the pin and having ends set axially inward of the pin ends and forming axially oppositely outwardly directed end surfaces. Structure on each of the pin ends defines an axially inwardly directed end surface axially confronting the respective bushing end surface and a radially inwardly directed inner surface radially confronting the pin outer surface and defining with the pin outer surface, the bushing end surface, and the structure end surface an annular compartment filled with a body of a liquid lubricant.

  • Patent number: 5496285
Abstract: A disposable syringe for administering liquid medicinal agents to live animal or human subjects is disclosed. The syringe comprises a hollow cylinder, filled with a medicinal agent, with which an injection needle is attached. The cylinder surrounds a piston that can be moved by means of a piston rod towards the injection needle. The piston is produced from a thermoplastically processable rubber mixture and is delimited in the direction of the medicinal agent by a peripheral sealing lip that contacts the hollow cylinder and that can be deflected in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 5362160
Abstract: A supporting disk for a flywheel of an open-end spinning machine, comprising a hub ring (1) and a support ring (3) made of elastomer material and affixed to the outer surface of the hub ring. The hub ring (1) consists of a polymer material with a modulus of elasticity of 7000 to 13000N/mm.sup.2, a dimensional stability to heat from 150.degree. to 250.degree. C., as well as an elongation at break of 1.3 to 3%.

  • Patent number: 5346230
Abstract: A seal for a reciprocating rod, comprised of a sealing ring of elastomeric material, which is provided at its end facing away from the space to be sealed off with a recess that opens towards the rod and in the direction of the end, into which a guide ring is inserted. At a distance from the end, the guide ring is provided with one radially outwardly pointing projection which is snapped into the sealing ring. The sealing ring is undetachably secured to the guide ring during storage and assembly.

  • Patent number: 5221133
Abstract: A supporting disk for the rotor of an open-end spinning machine, comprising a hub ring of metallic material and a support ring made of elastomer polyurethane that is affixed to the outer surface of the hub ring, whereby the support ring is affixed to the outer surface of an auxiliary ring consisting of polymer material. The material of the auxiliary ring has a modulus of elasticity of 7000 to 13,000 N/mm.sup.2, a dimensional stability under heat from 150.degree. to 250.degree. C., as well as an elongation at break of 1.3 to 3%. It is affixed with radial widening of its inside diameter and with an interference fit to the outer surface of the hub ring.

  • Patent number: 4396198
Abstract: A joint pin seal for a caterpillar track. The join pin seal comprises a support ring of hard elastomer material having a cylindrical inner wall. The support ring is firmly pressed in a housing bore which is adjacent a relatively movable machine part to be sealed. The support ring comprises a stiffening ring contacting the rear wall of the housing bore and a lip ring adjacent the machine part to be sealed. The lip ring has a sealing lip which presses against the surface of the machine part to be sealed. The stiffening ring is tapered in notch-like fashion into said lip ring forming a membrane at the transition into the lip ring and provides the support ring with a notch between the lip ring and the stiffening ring. A pressure ring, formed from a softer elastomer material, is disposed within the notch and contacts the housing bore wall. The pressure ring presses the sealing lip into the relatively movable machine part to be sealed.

  • Patent number: 4161976
Abstract: Anti-skid tire chain comprises a network positionable during use in the region of the tire tread. The network includes two parallel chains extendable along opposite sides of the tread, a plurality of rings interconnected into each chain for guiding same and a plurality of straps. Each strap interconnects one ring from one chain with one ring from the other chain and each crosses over another strap. At least one post is connected to a strap in the region of each intersection and is composed of synthetic material.
