  • Patent number: 8146431
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for nondestructive testing of a metallic workpiece (11) using an ultrasonic transducer testing head having the following steps: to generate an ultrasonic wave, an excitation pulse is transmitted using the ultrasonic transducer (1) to the workpiece (11), a response signal is measured using the magnetic field sensor (3), testing information, preferably transit time information of the ultrasonic wave and therefrom wall thickness information about the thickness of the workpiece (11), is ascertained on the basis of an ultrasonic echo component of the response signal, and further information, in particular distance information about the distance of the testing head from the workpiece (11), is ascertained on the basis of a magnetic field component of the response signal by supplementary analysis.

  • Patent number: 7407532
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for separating NH3 from a mixture containing NH3, CO2 and H2O which comprises an NH3 rectification step carried out in a NH3 separation device to which one or more streams containing NH3, CO2 and H2O including the mixture, are supplied, with a stream consisting substantially of gaseous NH3 being formed in the NH3 separation device, separated from the mixture and discharged. In the process according to the invention a condensation step is carried out on at least one of the stream consisting substantially of gaseous NH3 or the one or more streams containing NH3, CO2 and H2O supplied to the NH3 separation device, in which at least a part of the existing CO2 is converted to a liquid phase.

  • Patent number: 6009756
Abstract: Device for testing ferromagnetic materials, such as pipelines and the like, for faults, cracks, corrosion, etc. An one electromagnetic ultrasonic transducer includes at least one high frequency current coil and an arraay of permanent magnets which create a magnetic field for exciting and/or detecting ultrasonic waves in the wall of the ferromagnetic material. The ultrasonic transducer is located between the pole pieces of an additional magnet arrangement that produces a magnetic prefield in the material wall.
