  • Patent number: 10556236
Abstract: An auto-feed paper shredder is configured for placement below the surface of a desk. The auto-feeder consists of a drawer located on the front surface of the shredder. This drawer is slid out to insert a stack of documents to be shredded. When the door is slid back into the shredder and the shredding system is activated, feed rollers draw sheets of paper either from the top or the bottom surface of the stack and feed the sheets into a conventional paper shredding mechanism. An input slot is provided to insert single sheets of paper when the auto-feeder is not being used.

  • Patent number: 10486409
Abstract: A unit for automatically removing labels from a pharmacy container operates by heating the labels to soften the pressure sensitive adhesive thereon. After the adhesive is softened, the containers are rotated and brought into contact with a scrapper which peels off the label. The removed label falls into a container or directly into a shredding mechanism that is integral with the label remover. One embodiment of the device uses a chilled mandril inserted into the container to keep the container from softening when heat is applied to facilitate label removal.

  • Publication number: 20190193127
Abstract: Inventive cleaning sheets contact the rollers of paper shredder autofeed mechanisms with cleaning material that is either moistened with a solvent or treated with a low tack adhesive—either of which remove dirt and contaminants from the rollers. In one embodiment the moistened cleaning material is attached to a rigid sheet sized to fit into the paper compartment of the shredder where the cleaning material is brought into contact with the feed roller. The shredder is operated which causes dirt to be transferred from the rollers to the cleaning material. Alternatively, the cleaning material can be attached to a flexible but impermeable sheet which is placed into the shredder. The shredder is operated and after the rollers are cleaned, they may grab the entire flexible sheet and shred it, thereby additionally cleaning the shredding mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20190134642
Abstract: The present invention involves a collapsible and disposable container that is inserted into a paper shredder to catch the shredded paper fragments. The disposable container has a relatively narrow slot-shaped opening having a length less than the longest dimension of the top of the container. A pair of counter-rotating rollers is supplied to compact the paper fragments and feed them through the slot and into the waste container. Various sensor systems, some constructed from conductive ink are used with and within the disposable container.

  • Patent number: 9884323
Abstract: An auto-feed paper shredder operates by using counter-rotating belts to grasp sheets of paper from the bottom of a stack of paper and push the sheet into a shredding mechanism. Successive sheets are pulled from the stack and shredded so that an entire stack of several hundred sheets can be shredded without operator intervention. The belts that accomplish the auto-feeding are housed in roller belt assemblies that can be easily removed from and reinserted into the paper shredder. In this way when the belts become worn and no longer effectively grasp the paper, the user simply removes the assembly and inserts a new one. The worn assemblies can be returned to the manufacturer to be refurbished.

  • Patent number: 9751673
Abstract: A lubrication package for lubrication of paper shredders wherein a lubricant is sandwiched between two coversheets which are sealed together near their peripheral edges to contain the lubricant. When the package is inserted into an operating paper shredder, the coversheets are shredded and release the lubricant to lubricate the shredding mechanism. The lubricant is prevented from all migrating towards one of the peripheral edges by interior seals that divide the package into at least two interior regions that do not contact sealed together peripheral edges of the package.

  • Publication number: 20160074869
Abstract: A paper shredder is configured like a conventional paper shredder except that the shredding mechanism is located in a removable cartridge. This allows a single paper shredder housing to be rapidly converted from one shredding pattern to another by simply changing the shredding cartridge. Furthermore, shredding cartridges can be readily replaced whenever the shredding mechanism jams or fails in some other manner. This simplifies repair and servicing of the paper shredder.
