  • Patent number: 8228323
Abstract: We describe an electronic document reader system for viewing electronic documents, in which the electronic documents are viewable on a removable electronic document reader display that is useable whilst removed from an electronic document reader display holder. The system comprises: a removable non-volatile display for viewing electronic documents thereon, the display having a display portion on which electronic documents are viewable; a display holder for receiving the removable display, the display holder comprising a back, and an open front shaped to receive the removable display, each of the display and the holder having an electrical interface, wherein, when the removable display is received in the open front, the removable display and holder form an electrically connected combined unit to enable the display to receive document data from the holder for display, and wherein the removable display is useable to read electronic documents when removed from the display holder.

  • Patent number: 6060694
Abstract: A device (1) is provided for heating up a tool holder which is part of a tool clamping chuck. Tool clamping chucks of this type have a coupling part which can be inserted into a machine tool. The tool holder, which can be removed from the chuck or is connected to it, is cylindrical or conical, for example, and has a coaxial fitting hole for receiving the shaft of an interchangeable tool, for example a drill or hob. The device (1) has a heating unit (2) to heat up and thus expand the tool holder and its fitting hole. Furthermore, the device (1) has an insert (3) with an exactly fitting internal receptacle opening (4), in particular for a planar contact with the outer side of the tool holder. This insert is made of a heat-conducting material or metal which can be heated with the heating unit (2), so that the heat energy transferred via this insert can be transferred in a uniform, quick and targeted manner, as well as in the desired dosing, to the tool holder.

  • Patent number: 4927304
Abstract: A holder for rotary material removing tools which are used in machine tools has a housing with two coaxial sections which can be held end-to-end by a set of male coupling elements provided in one of the sections and extending into a groove of the other section. The other section carries a shaft or spindle which transmits torque to a material removing tool, and the other section is separable from the one section when the male coupling elements are extracted from the groove by discrete fluid-operated motors which can move the male coupling elements against the opposition of stressed coil springs. The tips of the male coupling elements bear against the other section in operative positions of the male coupling elements to thereby urge an end face of the other section against an adjacent end face of the one section.
