  • Publication number: 20060135891
Abstract: An apparatus (1) for treating a person's skin comprises a motor-driven skin treatment device (2), preferably formed by a brush (2), which device (2) can be driven into rotation and can additionally be driven into vibration, in particular at a frequency lying in a frequency range of between 100 Hz and 140 Hz, a nominal frequency of 120 Hz proving to be particularly advantageous.

  • Patent number: 6236808
Abstract: In a facial sauna, a reservoir configuration is provided in a housing, comprising a water heating reservoir and a foam retrieval reservoir. A heating device for heating water is provided adjacent an outer region of a reservoir wall of the water heating reservoir. The reservoir configuration consists of at least two reservoir parts which are detachably connected to one another and which are separable from one another. The heating device is being provided at only one reservoir part adjacent the outer region of a reservoir wall. An inner region of the one reservoir wall of the reservoir part whose outer region lies adjacent the heating device is freely accessible when the reservoir parts are separated from one another.

  • Patent number: 6165182
Abstract: Depilation apparatus with a housing and a depilation member for gripping hairs on human skin and pulling the hairs from the skin comprises a vibration member for exerting mechanical vibrations on the skin. Such mechanical vibrations have an anaesthetizing effect on the skin so that pain sensations caused by the process of pulling hairs from the skin are relieved. The vibration member comprises flexible protrusions which have been disposed on a carrier. In this way, the mechanical vibrations are introduced into the skin in distinct concentrated positions on the skin.

  • Patent number: 5462557
Abstract: A depilation apparatus including a number of pinching discs (35) which are coupled to a drive shaft (7) in positions which are mutually rotated through 120.degree. about the drive shaft (7) is provided. Each pair of adjoining pinching discs (35) is pivotable under the influence of a compression member (83) into a pinching position in which two cooperating pinching surfaces (67, 63) exert a pinching force on one another. The pivot axis (113) of each pair of pinching discs (35) is determined by a stud part (55b) of a bipartite stud (55) of one of the two pinching discs (35) and by the mutually facing steps (41) of the two pinching discs (35). The cooperating pinching surfaces (67, 63) are supported on either side in the pinching position by the stud parts (55b) and (55a), respectively, of the bipartite studs (55) of the adjoining pinching discs (35), so that a substantially straight force transmission path is created in the pinching position.

  • Patent number: 5135430
Abstract: The invention relates to a depilation apparatus, in which a driving roller (3) and a drive roller (4) are provided with tooth means (5, 6) and form a roller pair, the rollers performing a rotary movement which is directed into the interior of the apparatus at the location where they interengage circumferentially. The driven roller (4) of each roller pair has teeth (5) along its entire circumference but the driving roller (3) has teeth only along part of its circumference, so that the rollers intermesh only during part of a revolution of the driving roller.
