  • Patent number: 6382491
Abstract: A vehicle seat has a bottom part which is supported by a front leg and a back leg on the vehicle floor. Bottom ends of the legs are mounted pivotably on the vehicle floor and the top ends of the legs are mounted pivotably on the bottom part of the seat. The seat has a seat-adjustment device operable to adjust the seat between two positions in the direction of a seat longitudinal axis running from the back towards the front. This seat-adjustment device has a tube which is mounted pivotably on the vehicle floor, and a rod which is mounted in the tube in such a manner that it can be adjusted in two directions and is pivotably mounted on the bottom part of the seat. The seat-adjustment device has a locking device which fixes the tube and the rod in axial positions relative to one another, which positions are each associated with one of the seat positions.

  • Patent number: 6224150
Abstract: A cushioning for the seat part and/or the backrest of a vehicle seat has a cushioning layer, a ventilation layer which is arranged above the cushioning layer and through which air can flow a cushioning cover which spans the cushioning surface and in which quilt seams for forming cushioning contours are made which penetrate the ventilation layer, and at least one electric fan for actively ventilating the cushioning which is accommodated in an air duct penetrating the cushioning layer. For the purpose of a constructively simplified design of the cushioning for lowering the manufacturing costs, the at least one air duct with the integrated fan is arranged in an area of a quilt seam such that the air flowing out of the air duct flows on both sides of the quilt seam into the ventilation layer. A low-cost vibration damping is achieved in that the fan is embedded in a rubberized-hair layer which is positioned in the ventilation-layer-side mouth area of the air duct in the cushioning layer.

  • Patent number: 6145925
Abstract: A backrest for vehicle seats, has a backrest frame, a backrest cushion which is fastened thereto and consists of a cushion layer and of a ventilation layer which covers the cushion layer and through which air can flow. A fan is provided for the active ventilation of the backrest cushion. For the purpose of improving the sitting comfort, the vehicle seat is equipped with a lordosis support, the fan being fastened largely centrally in the cushion area on the lordosis support at low vibrations. The fan is situated inside an air duct constructed in the cushion layer, the clear cross-section of the air duct being dimensioned such that the fan remains inside the air duct during its movement going along with the lordosis adjustment.
