  • Patent number: 5590339
Abstract: An interface for connecting a local input device to a host, such as a telephone message receiving unit. The interface transfers data serially from the local input device to the telephone message receiving unit for print out or facsimile transmission thereby. Control of the interface is governed by a state machine having several states.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 23, 1993
Date of Patent: December 31, 1996
    Assignee: Macronix International Co., Ltd.
    Inventor: Hershow Chang
  • Patent number: 5276781
Abstract: The present invention relates to a frame buffer used by a laser printer controller to send video signals to a laser printer engine. The frame buffer allows software to have sufficient control over the dimension of the buffer and to have sufficient time to process data by allowing hardware assisted memory erase.

  • Patent number: 5206932
Abstract: The present invention relates to a frame buffer used by a laser printer controller to send video signals to a laser printer engine. The frame buffer allows software to have sufficient control of the dimension of the buffer and to have sufficient time to process data by allowing software to change X and Y dimensions of the buffer. In addition, software controls the loading of the frame buffer start address.

  • Patent number: 5058038
Abstract: A method to connect a wide sized document scanner to a laser printer engine for copying with size reduction enables the output to be printed on plain paper through a laser printer and digital copier with different paper sizes. The method utilizes an output buffer such that the original document needs to be scanned only once even though multiple copies are requested. The method adjusts input resolution to output device characteristics by manipulating the pulse width of the video signal and matching the number of output lines.
