Abstract: This connecting module, inserted between a printer and an enveloping machine, comprises a first zone for receiving documents, a second zone for receiving documents, a sheet outlet zone and an envelope outlet zone, first conveying means connecting the first receiving zone to the sheet outlet zone, second conveying means connecting the first receiving zone to the envelope outlet zone, and third conveying means connecting the second receiving zone to the envelope outlet zone, controllable routing means being located on a common inlet section of the first and second conveying means so as to select the path according to the type of document arriving in the receiving zone.

Abstract: The invention concerns a device comprising a belt with one side opposite unsprung support means and extending between an upstream roller and a downstream roller both suspended so that the object can be sandwiched between the unsprung support means and said belt side, the latter being wound around at least two other rollers whereof at least one is unsprung.

Abstract: A machine for printing flat objects of various thicknesses successively fed the length of a table by means of a feed mechanism and printed by means of a printing mechanism is provided. The feed mechanism includes at least two feed rollers between which the objects pass. Each of the at least two feed rollers is rotatable about an axis of rotation and at least one of the feed rollers is motorized. The printing mechanism includes a revolving printing drum and a motorized counter-printing roller rotatable about an axis of rotation. The machine also includes a lever having a first end, a second end, and a middle. The lever is pivotable at its middle and joined at its middle by a stop joint.

Abstract: A device for extracting the contents of an envelope pre-cut on three sides is provided. The device includes at least one bi-directional upper extraction roller, at least one bi-directional lower extraction roller cooperating with the upper extraction roller, and a receptacle for receiving the extracted contents of the pre-cut envelope.

Abstract: A device for unstacking and opening envelopes from a stack of envelopes is provided. The device includes a frame having a receptacle area for receiving the stack. At least one, but preferably two, endless belts are located at the bottom of the receptacle area for extracting an envelope from the bottom of the stack, the flap of the envelope folded and oriented upwardly and in a forward direction. At least one set, but preferably two sets, of cooperating drive rollers rotating in opposite directions are arranged such that the extracted envelope can pass therebetween. The drive rollers move the extracted envelope in a feed direction dependent on the direction of drive roller rotation. A fixed wedge-shaped deflector is located downstream from the drive rollers and is arranged at an angle relative to the forward feed direction.

Abstract: In a printing machine with a rotary drum (1) for franking envelopes (4), each print operation is performed at a constant rotational speed in a given direction, whereafter the direction of rotation of the drum (1) is reversed so that for the next print operation, the rotational speed of the drum (1) may be increased in said direction over a greater angle to achieve said constant speed.

Abstract: This folding machine comprises two input rollers (5) for feeding the paper, two output rollers (18, 18') for discharging the paper controlling the movement, a paper guide (8) pivotally mounted between the input rollers (5) and the output rollers, capable of assuming a first and a second position and comprising a press roller (14, 14'), the assembly being controlled to permit forming loops and folds of the paper.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for inserting a document into an envelope. The apparatus comprises a rotating assembly which includes a document tranferring means. In first position of the rotating assembly, an envelope is fed and a document is fed to the transferring means. While the assembly is rotated to a second position, the document is being conveyed to the envelope and inserted therein. The envelope is then discharged and the assembly is rotated back to its first position.
