  • Publication number: 20120325235
Abstract: A system for sampling a heated product comprising a disposable first subassembly having an applicator head, and a physically separate reusable second subassembly having an electric heating circuit. Prior to use, the two subassemblies are able to form a rigid connection. As a result of forming this connection, the applicator head is transferred to the second subassembly such that a portion of the electric heating circuit is inserted into an interior space of the applicator head. In this configuration, the second subassembly is used to apply heated product.

  • Patent number: 8337108
Abstract: A rigid single-use cosmetic container is provided wherein the basic elements, a tubular container and an applicator wand, are integrally formed as a unitary body. The wand extends inwardly from the top of the container into a product reservoir to form of an applicator end. The wand extends upwardly from the top end of the container to form a handle which may be provided in dimensions approximating the cap on a saleable package. An applicator, e.g., a brush, may be mounted on the applicator end of the wand. The container and wand are separated by a frangible connection in the top end of the container. When the frangible connection is broken, an opening is created in the top end of the container. The opening is sized to act as a wiper to remove excess product from the applicator when the wand is drawn from the container.

  • Patent number: 8087842
Abstract: A multi-compartment, wiper-applicator package comprising a container holding a first formulation, a wiper, initially sealed at both ends and a barbed tool. Within the sealed wiper is a quantity of secondary ingredients that is to be mixed with the first formulation in the container. The barbed tool is able to pierce the top seal, then dislocate the bottom seal, completely separating the bottom seal from the wiper. Thereafter the barbed tool removes the top seal completely, so that, what remains, is a conventional wiper. The barbed tool can be inserted only to a defined depth in the wiper. This prevents the barbed tool from removing the wiper from the container.

  • Publication number: 20110284123
Abstract: Metered dose applicators that irradiate a portion of light sensitive product. When a dropper applicator is secured to a reservoir, a usable volume inside the dropper is reduced. As the dropper is removed from the reservoir, the usable volume in the dropper increases, creating a suction within the dropper that draws product into the dropper from the reservoir. When the dropper is off the reservoir, then a button that is accessible to a user is used to increase and decrease the size of the usable volume. The button also turns on a light that is effective to activate the product as it is being dispensed from the dropper.
