    Abstract: A roller bearing assembly with two rows of rolling elements includes a first ring formed in one piece to have two raceways and two independent rings each having one raceway, a device for maintaining the relative positions of the rolling elements between the rings and a device for fixing the two independent rings axially to one another. The relative positions of at least some of the rolling elements are maintained by two parts of a retention device which includes, before the bearing is assembled, one or more connecting zones in a relatively weakened condition so that they will break during assembly of the rolling bearing assembly.
