  • Publication number: 20020146945
Abstract: A hydraulic tilt and trim device for a marine propulsion unit and a method of forming such a device. This is done by utilizing a cast in pipe that is cast into the molded housing assembly for the tilt and trim device and which can be subsequently machined so as to form complete passages for the hydraulic system and thus minimizing the number of drilled and bored passages that must be formed.

  • Publication number: 20020083169
Abstract: A network monitoring system which monitors activities on a network with optimal coverage and frequency, depending on the current state of the network. A monitoring policy setting unit sets a specific monitoring policy that includes: which object to watch, which item of that object to monitor, and how frequent it should be. According to this policy, a monitoring unit carries out monitoring of the network. The monitoring result is passed to a monitoring policy changing unit, which changes the current monitoring policy being set in the monitoring policy setting unit. Some related resources on the network may also be reconfigured according to the reported monitoring result, by a resource setup changing unit. An event detector detects a particular event occurred in the network resources and notifies the monitoring policy changing unit of the occurrence, so that the monitoring policy will be changed accordingly.

  • Patent number: 6286766
Abstract: A push button for powder aerosol has a push button body, a nozzle and a guide passage. The nozzle is formed in the push button body with a diameter in a range of 0.4 mm to 1.0 mm and a length in a range of 0.3 mm to 2.0 mm in communication with a stem of an aerosol container. The guide passage is formed in the push button body in continuation with an outer end of the nozzle in extending in a spraying direction of the nozzle and formed with a diameter of a range of 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm that is larger than the diameter of the nozzle and a length of a range of 3.0 mm to 20.0 mm for guiding the contents of the powder aerosol. The nozzle flows out the contents with diffusion suppressed, so that accurate application can be made to the limited range on aimed areas such as skins.

  • Patent number: 5788031
Abstract: A control cylinder unit for varying a spring constant of a vehicular stabilizer includes a cylindrical fluid chamber divided into upper and lower liquid chambers by a slidably inserted piston. The upper and lower liquid chambers are communicated with each other through a controlled rotary valve installed in a piston rod connected to the piston. A reservoir chamber is formed around the liquid chamber and is communicated with the upper and lower liquid chambers through first and second check valves installed at upper and lower ends of the liquid chamber. The first and second check valves function to allow fluid from the reservoir chamber into the upper and lower liquid chambers. Further, a hole for communicating the liquid chamber and the reservoir chamber is formed at a center portion of a cylindrical wall of the fluid chamber.

  • Patent number: 5636770
Abstract: A dip tube whose tip portion can reach the nooks at the bottom of an aerosol container, so that the aerosol content therein can be assuredly sprayed with substantially no aerosol content being left unused. A weight fixed around the dip tube is arranged so that it does not hit the inner surface of the aerosol container. The dip tube is provided in an aerosol container and an end portion thereof is connected to a valve mechanism. The opposite end of the dip tube is left free. The dip tube conveys the aerosol content from the container to the valve mechanism where it is emitted as an aerosol spray. The dip tube includes a pliable tube main body and a tubular weight fixed on the tube main body adjacent to the free end. An end portion of the tube main body is therefore left exposed by the tubular weight. The length of the exposed end portion is selected so that the end portion is assuredly interposed between the weight and the interior surface of the container.

  • Patent number: 4998318
Abstract: A knob device mounted on an operating member such as an on/off switch or volume control of a piece of audio or video equipment has a push button which is pushed from the front side of a panel. The push button has a flange which is received in an escutcheon having an inner flange at its front end. A sheet having small projections on at least one of its inner and outer peripheries is disposed between the inner flange and the flange of the push button, as well as between the push button and the escutcheon, thereby to prevent any play or backlash from occurring. The sheet may be thin and interposed between the flange of the push button and the inner surface of the escutcheon in sliding contact with the flange. The knob device may be made of a light transmitting resin mounted on the operating element. The knob has a flange and a mark on its face formed by a non-light transmitting panel. The panel has a non-light transmitting knob guide formed on its rear to guide the flange.

  • Patent number: 4662783
Abstract: A flexible membraneous weir is disclosed. When air once filled in an air type flexible membrane weir is discharged in order to cause it to collapse, its membraneous wall is deformed in a V-shape at one portion in the river width direction, and a stream concentrates into this portion. However, the portion where the V-deformation will be formed is not certain. Therefore, it is required to reinforce the whole area of the river-bed and the river wall at the down stream side. In view of the foregoing, means is provided for starting V-deformation onto a bag-shaped member as a main body of the weir in a predetermined portion at a time when the bag-shaped member is collapse from its erected state. With this arrangement, the stream can be concentrated on the predetermined portion only. Therefore reinforcement is required only for a river-bed portion corresponding to this portion.

  • Patent number: 4527676
Abstract: A variable-damping-force shock absorber in which the motor for rotating the orifice adjuster is housed within the cylinder and the orifice-adjuster position sensor for outputting binary coded sensor signals is incorporated. Therefore, it is possible to reduce noise generated from the motor while improving the lifetime of the motor because mud or rain water will not adhere onto the motor and to improve the precision and the response speed in rotating the orifice adjuster because the adjuster can be feedback controlled in digital fashion. Further, since the driven shaft of the motor or the reduction gear is loosely coupled with the orifice adjuster in the axial direction thereof, it is possible to reduce the torque or the size of the motor, because fluid pressure is not directly applied to the driven shaft via the orifice adjuster.

  • Patent number: 4420937
Abstract: A hydraulic circuit for a so called feathering control of a variable displacement pump in which displacement of the variable displacement pump is controlled to a minimum when every actuator in a system is not in operation thereby keeping a power loss to a minimum. The hydraulic circuit includes a jet flow sensor for detecting a dynamic pressure of fluid. The jet flow sensor is disposed in a circuit for connecting a system pressure line to a reservoir and is adapted to convert static pressure of the fluid to dynamic pressure thereof. This detected dynamic pressure is introduced into a servo mechanism for the variable displacement pump for effecting feathering control.
