    Abstract: A semiconductor device including a capacitor whose charge capacity is increased while improving the aperture ratio is provided. Further, a semiconductor device which consumes less power is provided. A transistor which includes a light-transmitting semiconductor film, a capacitor in which a dielectric film is provided between a pair of electrodes, an insulating film which is provided over the light-transmitting semiconductor film, and a first light-transmitting conductive film which is provided over the insulating film are included. The capacitor includes the first light-transmitting conductive film which serves as one electrode, the insulating film which functions as a dielectric, and a second light-transmitting conductive film which faces the first light-transmitting conductive film with the insulating film positioned therebetween and functions as the other electrode.

    Abstract: An object is to provide a semiconductor device having a structure in which parasitic capacitance between wirings can be efficiently reduced. In a bottom gate thin film transistor using an oxide semiconductor layer, an oxide insulating layer used as a channel protection layer is formed above and in contact with part of the oxide semiconductor layer overlapping with a gate electrode layer, and at the same time an oxide insulating layer covering a peripheral portion (including a side surface) of the stacked oxide semiconductor layer is formed. Further, a source electrode layer and a drain electrode layer are formed in a manner such that they do not overlap with the channel protection layer. Thus, a structure in which an insulating layer over the source electrode layer and the drain electrode layer is in contact with the oxide semiconductor layer is provided.

    Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a display device from which a driver or a fellow passenger in a mobile body such as a vehicle can easily obtain desired information. One embodiment of the present invention is a display device including a display panel. The display panel is placed inside a mobile body including window glass. A film including a light-blocking layer is provided between the window glass and the display panel of the mobile body. By providing a driving unit controlling the display panel, the positional relationship between the window glass and the display panel is changed. Alternatively, by providing a driving unit controlling the film including the light-blocking layer, the positional relationship between the window glass and the film including the light-blocking layer is changed.

    Abstract: An improved terminal apparatus is provided for electrical connections to a coin-shaped battery of a kind which may be employed in portable electronic equipment. The terminal apparatus includes a positive terminal plate for engaging a side surface (i.e., a positive electrode) of the coin-shaped battery and a negative terminal plate for engaging the bottom (i.e., a negative electrode) of the battery. The positive terminal plate is geometrically oriented so as to establish constant engagement with the side surface of the battery when placed in a battery holder. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the positive terminal plate is made of a spring member and is curved toward the battery holder to elastically urge the side surface of the battery for constant engagement therewith. Alternatively, the positive terminal plate includes a hook portion engaging the side surface of the battery when placed in the battery holder.

    Abstract: A cover is introduced onto a holder, substantially perpendicular to the holder by guides which hold a liquid crystal display panel on the holder so that the liquid crystal display panel is displaceable only in a direction substantially perpendicular to the holder, then the cover is set on the holder with the liquid crystal display panel being interposed therebetween. The introducing end parts of stoppers projected from the cover are introduced into lock means provided to the holder so that convex parts formed by the introducing end parts are locked resiliently by the lock means. During assembly, the cover is moved only in a direction perpendicular to the display surface of the liquid crystal display panel with substantially no movement along the display surface thereof, thereby it is possible to prevent the display surface of the liquid crystal display panel from being damaged.
