  • Publication number: 20240159267
Abstract: A foil bearing includes a top foil, which includes a bearing surface facing a rotary member, extends in a circumferential direction, and includes a fixed end at one end in the circumferential direction and a free end at the other end in the circumferential direction, and a sheet-shaped back foil, which elasticity supports the top foil. The top foil includes a connecting section that connects, at a location between the fixed end and the free end, a first side of the top foil, at which the bearing surface is located, to a second side of the top foil, at which the back foil is located, and a cutout section that reduces the thickness of the top foil so as to facilitate deformation of the top foil. The cutout section is formed at the second side rather than the first side.

Abstract: A dielectric electronic component such as a dielectric duplexer includes a dielectric ceramic block, a plurality of resonators arranged in a row in the dielectric ceramic block, and at least one terminal pad formed on a side surface of the dielectric ceramic block and coupled to a selected one of the resonators. An attenuation adjustment electrode is provided on an end face of the dielectric ceramic block in the vicinity of the selected resonator. The attenuation adjustment electrode has a base conductor portion extending from the terminal pad and having an edge that faces the end of the selected resonator, and first and second adjustment conductor portions projecting from the base conductor portion and directly oppositely along a general path or direction defined by the arrangement of the resonators. The first and second adjustment conductor portions are selectively ground away in order to adjust the frequency of the attenuation peak of the frequency characteristics of the component.

  • Patent number: 6798316
Abstract: A dielectric duplexer device is provided with an output terminal pad formed on a side surface of a dielectric block in the vicinity of an open end associated with a plurality of resonators of a reception section in such a manner as to face the resonators. An extension electrode extends from the output terminal pad onto an end face of the dielectric block where the open end is present, to thereby be capacitively coupled with the resonators. The coupling capacitance can be readily corrected by adjusting the position of the end of the extension electrode. In one specific form, when the dielectric duplexer is mounted, the extension electrode is exposed and is also joined to a predetermined conductive path by means of solder. Accordingly, the output terminal pad is soldered at the bottom and side surfaces thereof to thereby be fillet-soldered, thereby providing visibility of electrical and mechanical connections thereof to the predetermined conductive path and thus enhancing the reliability of the mounted state.

  • Patent number: 6170016
Abstract: A content collection part compares the transmission rate (TD) inputted from a transmission rate monitoring part with a threshold value (C−&agr;) in response to a start operation by a user. When a condition TD<(C−&agr;) is satisfied, the content collection part starts an automatic content collection part to perform a background process to collect URL contents which were set up beforehand from a Web server. When the user designates URL contents, the content collection part controls the automatic content collection part to terminate the background process and enters a foreground process to collect the designated URL contents.

  • Patent number: 6045398
Abstract: The battery accepting unit for a battery operated electric/electronic apparatus includes a plurality of positive terminals and a plurality of negative terminals. The battery accepting unit has a first position whereat a battery is connected by a pair of positive and negative terminals; a second position whereat a battery is connected by another pair of positive and negative terminals; a third position that can serve as both said first and said second positions; and a fourth position whereat a battery is connected by all positive and negative terminals. According to the battery accepting unit of the present invention, a battery pack can be exchanged without halting the power supply to an electric/electronic apparatus. Since an auxiliary power source, such as a sub-battery, is not required for an electric/electronic apparatus, a single power system, including a DC/DC converter and a charging circuit, can be provided.

  • Patent number: 5771030
Abstract: To drive a liquid crystal panel without producing flickering or noise on a screen, an adder circuit 26 adds the noise component of the analog signal detected in a filter 24 to a reference voltage from a power supply 16, and a phase adjustment circuit 28 adjusts the phase of the reference voltage to which the noise component was added. A circuit 12 holds the analog signal and outputs it to comparators 14.sub.1 to 14.sub.n. The reference voltage from the circuit 28 is divided in resistors 18.sub.1 to 18.sub.n+1 and output to comparators 14.sub.1 to 14.sub.n as threshold voltages TV.sub.1 to TV.sub.n. The comparator 14 compares the input analog signal to the voltage TV, and outputs a predetermined signal to an encoder 20 if the analog signal is greater than the voltage TV. The encoder 20 converts the signal from the comparator 14 to a digital signal and applies it to the electrode of a liquid crystal panel.

  • Patent number: 5448614
Abstract: In an interventional radiography (IVR), for example in a percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), when the IVR includes a period in which the movement of the object is slow, a normal X-ray radiating mode (a continuous X-ray radiation or a normal rate pulse radiation of about 15-30 pulses per second) is changed to a very slow rate pulse X-ray radiation of about 1-5 pulses per second to decrease the X-ray dose of the patient. Since the movement is slow, the very slow rate pulse radiation can still trace the movement adequately. Further, the quality of the X-ray image is improved by increasing the tube current in the very slow rate pulse radiation because less heat is generated in the X-ray tube.

  • Patent number: 5416819
Abstract: X-ray penetration images picked up by an X-ray penetrating device are supplied to an image processor, and stored in a magnetic disk unit as radiographic image data. The radiographic image data are reproduced on a reproduced image display monitor installed in an examination room. The examination room further includes a fluoroscopic image display monitor for selectively displaying the fluoroscopic images and menus. The menus include functions to select radiographic image data for reproduction on the reproduced image display monitor and to select a display mode. The functions shown on the menus may be selected and instructed by operating a joystick. During a procedure of interventional radiology, an operator operates the joystick to select and instruct desired radiographic image data to be reproduced. A display mode for enlarging reproduced images may be selected as necessary.

  • Patent number: 5212602
Abstract: A magnetic head usable in a reader-writer for reading and writing data which can be magnetically processed. The magnetic head is characterized in that: it comprises a core (1), an exciting coil (2) for exciting the core (1), and a head case (3) for tightly enclosing the core (1) and the exciting coil (2); and a fuse is provided in a part of the exciting coil (2). When the reader-writer in which the magnetic head is incorporated is to be abandoned, the magnetic head can be easily destroyed, thereby enabling the prevention of fraudulent uses, such as the forging, of magnetic cards.
