  • Patent number: 7925150
Abstract: A camera system includes: a light emitting unit that performs a main emission of light in which during photography a photographic subject is illuminated with a first light having a first color temperature, and a preparatory emission of light in which the photographic subject is illuminated with a second light having a second color temperature before photography; an imaging element that outputs an image capture signal; a calculator that calculates an amount of the first light by the light emitting unit, based upon the image capture signal output during the preparatory emission of light; a corrector that corrects the calculated amount of the first light, based upon a color temperature difference between the first color temperature and the second color temperature; and a controller that controls the light emitting unit to perform the main emission of light at the amount of the first light after correction by the corrector.

  • Patent number: 7907841
Abstract: A camera includes: a light emission unit that emits illumination light; an amount of emitted light control unit that, during photography using the illumination light, controls the amount of illumination light to be emitted during photography based upon the amount of light reflected back from the photographic subject during a preliminary emission of light; and a color temperature control unit that controls the color temperature of the illumination light during the preliminary light emission, based upon color information for ambient light.

Date of Patent: March 15, 2011
    Assignee: Nikon Corporation
    Inventor: Hidehiko Aoyagi
  • Patent number: 7777806
Abstract: A digital still camera according to the present invention can obtain an image with appropriate brightness easily without an increase in memory capacity. The digital still camera of the present invention includes: an image-capturing unit which captures a field of object to generate an image; a photometry unit which measures a luminance of a predetermined area of the field of object; a calculating unit which calculates a ratio between a luminance value of a portion of the image captured according to the luminance measured by the photometry unit, and a target luminance value of the predetermined area, the portion corresponding to the predetermined area; and a correcting unit which corrects the image generated by the image-capturing unit according to the ratio.
