  • Patent number: 4271001
Abstract: Vesicles are suspended in a lipophilic ion solution and the lipophilic ion concentration is changed by the permeation of the lipophilic ions into the vesicles. An electrode selectively responsive to the lipophilic ions is immersed in the suspension to detect the time-change rate of the electrode potential, thereby to obtain a change in the lipophilic ion concentration with respect to time, from which are measured membrane characteristics of the vesicles, such as the permeability of a vesicular membrane to the lipophilic ions.

  • Patent number: 4227039
Abstract: Deposited on a glass or ceramic substrate for a thin-film microcircuit board such as a hybrid IC board or a transparent electrode is a thin-film laminate, which comprises a dispersion metal thin-film dispersible and evaporable upon application of an energy above a threshold value and an electrical property-imparting film defining a conductor or a resistor. Then a high intensity of light having an energy sufficient to cause dispersion is applied selectively on the thin-film laminate, thereby removing exposed portions of the thin-film laminate as a result of dispersion and evaporation thereof. Unexposed portions of the thin-film laminate provide a desired pattern. The electrical property-imparting film is a thin-film of noble metal such as gold, silver or platinum or a thin film of transparent electrode material such as SnO.sub.2 or In.sub.2 O.sub.3, which is not easily dispersible upon application of the above energy.

  • Patent number: 4226924
Abstract: A thin metal-halogen cell which comprises an electroconductive substrate, an anode active material layer of thin metal film formed on the base plate, a solid electrolyte layer formed on the anode active material, a cathode active material layer comprising a halogen, adhesive and carbonaceous powder, and an electroconductive plastic film, the latter two being laminated on the solid electrolyte layer in this order can be produced by using a step of forming thin films such as vacuum evaporation coating or sputtering and a step of laminating by using an adhesive. Thus, ultra-thin cells having high power and a thickness of 1 mm or less can be produced easily and inexpensively. When a separator and a barrier layer are sandwiched between the cathode active material layer and the solid electrolyte layer, shelf life of the cell is improved remarkably.

  • Patent number: 4173482
Abstract: A dry image forming material comprising (a) a non-photosensitive organic silver salt oxidizing agent, (b) a reducing agent for a silver ion and (c) a halogen molecule, which material is excellent in that a high sensitivity can be obtained and the occurrence of fog is extremely small. The sensitivity can be further improved by incorporation of a halogen ion source in addition to the halogen molecule. Furthermore, the dry image forming material can be improved, with respect to light stability of the raw image forming material and stabilities to heat and humidity, by incorporation of a nickel compound and/or a cobalt compound. In the dry image forming material of this invention, further incorporation of a carboxylic acid anhydride exerts a remarkable anti-fogging effect. The dry image forming material of this invention is non-photosensitive under normal lighting conditions and therefore, can be prepared, handled and stored in a light room.

  • Patent number: 4139288
Abstract: A pattern of a character, numeral or symbol on an optical mask is selected in accordance with the designation by a character designator and irradiated with light from a printing light source. The light is converted into a light of the pattern of the designated character, numeral or symbol by a optical mask, the pattern being of a size ranging from about 20 to about 500 .mu.m, and the converted light reaches a thin layer of a dispersion imaging material formed on a recording medium to cause at least dispersion of the thin layer, thereby to print the pattern of the designated character, numeral or symbol. A recording medium support and the position of irradiation of the recording medium with the converted light are moved by a drive relative to each other, so that characters, numerals and symbols can be printed on the recording medium one by one.

  • Patent number: 4121007
Abstract: A novel printed circuit board with a circuit of high precision having a polymer coat layer between a base and a dispersion imaging material layer and a pattern circuit on undispersed portions of the dispersion imaging material layer. Such a printed circuit board is prepared by a simplified process which comprises essentially two steps, namely, exposure of the dispersion imaging material through a circuit pattern mask to obtain a pattern circuit of the unexposed portions and conductive metal plating wherein said unexposed portions are selectively deposited with the conductive metal due to the specific effect of provision of the polymer coat layer directly under the dispersion imaging material layer.
