  • Patent number: 5056376
Abstract: A manual speed selector of an automatic vehicle transmission in which a line pressure is supplied from a manual valve capable of being changed over by a shift lever to control a plurality of solenoid valves so as to selectively supply hydraulic pressure to frictional engagement devices by shift valves. The shift lever can be moved between an automatic shift mode position and a manual shift mode position, and a transitive position is provided between these two mode positions. At the transitive position, the manual valve is set in a position such as to supply hydraulic pressure to set a neutral state based on the control of the solenoid valves. The shift lever can be immediately moved from this position to directly select any speed in the automatic shift mode or the manual shift mode. The above solenoid valves, a hydraulic control solenoid valve and a lock-up clutch engaging solenoid valve are controlled to enable rapid shifting in the manual shift mode as well as smooth shifting in the automatic shift mode.

  • Patent number: 5005442
Abstract: A stepless transmission in which travel in two different shift regions is made possible by a main transmission unit constituting a stepless transmission mechanism and an auxiliary transmission unit coupled to the stepless transmission mechanism, and in which torque ratio is capable of being varied steplessly in response to signals indicative of detected vehicle traveling conditions. The transmission is equipped with a function which improves the feeling of a speed reduction, makes possible a smooth start and provides excellent accelerability, a function which assures that the vehicle will start moving forward reliably, a function which enhances brake durability, and a function enhances safety in the event of motor malfunction.

  • Patent number: 4846020
Abstract: A vehicular automatic transmission control system comprising: a hydraulic control circuit including a hydraulic pressure source, a pressure regulator valve for producing a line pressure by regulating the oil pressure supplied from the pressure source, a number of shift valves for selectively engaging and releasing friction members of the automatic transmission according to operating conditions of a vehicle such as vehicle speed and throttle opening rate, and a solenoid valve blocking switching operation of a highest shift gear toward a highest gear position of the transmission; and an electronic control circuit for controlling on- and off-ranges of the solenoid valve, including a manual mode switch for setting the control either in a highest speed non-cancel mode permitting shifts to the highest gear position or a highest speed cancel mode inhibiting shifts to the highest gear position and forcibly effecting a downshift when selected during operation in the highest gear position, and a vehicle speed sensor; c

  • Patent number: 4366705
Abstract: A throttle opening detector for internal combustion engine is composed of a slide contact device which has first and second contacts with potential periodically varying in pulse form corresponding to throttle opening variation, phase difference of pulses beteeen said first and second contacts being a fourth of the period, and of a throttle opening reading device which reads out throttle opening from the potential variation in the first and second contacts and variations of exclusive-OR of potential signals in both contacts. The throttle opening detector enables to detect throttle opening precisely using a cheap micro-computer in 2 bits and to carry out the initial adjustment automatically.
