  • Publication number: 20190238722
Abstract: An image forming apparatus that is capable of improving a specified-color removal process. An obtaining unit obtains color image data. A color specification unit specifies removal color. A specified-color removal unit removes color that is determined to be removed according to determination based on a brightness threshold and a first saturation threshold about the removal color from the color image data obtained.

  • Publication number: 20160248928
Abstract: An image processing apparatus comprising: an applied amount calculation unit which calculates an amount of applied toner of the print image data and an amount of applied toner of the copy-forgery-inhibited pattern image data; a determination unit which determines, based on the amounts of applied toner calculated by the applied amount calculation unit, whether the sum of the amounts of applied toner of the print image data and the copy-forgery-inhibited image exceeds a predetermined amount of applied toner; and an applied amount control unit which, in a case where the determination unit determines that the sum of the amounts of applied toner exceeds the predetermined amount of applied toner, restricts the amount of applied toner of the print image data to prevent the sum of the amounts of applied toner from exceeding the predetermined amount of applied toner.

  • Patent number: 9223241
Abstract: An image processing apparatus that includes a controlling unit for controlling executions of a single color calibration which is for correcting a reproduction characteristic of a single color image, formed by an image forming unit, according to measurement of a single color image formed by the image forming unit with a single color recording material and a multi-color calibration which is for correcting a reproduction characteristic of a multi-color image, formed by the image forming unit, according to measurement of a multi-color image formed by the image forming unit with a plurality of recording materials. It is decided to execute at least one of the single color calibration and the multi-color calibration in accordance with history information of the single color calibration executed by the controlling and then the calibration which has been decided on is executed by the controlling unit.

  • Patent number: 9159001
Abstract: In the case where a request for printing is mage during execution of a continuous calibration, it is possible to interrupt a job without impairing the quality of printing by performing printing after executing an effective calibration in accordance with the kind of job, however, there is no mechanism to cancel each calibration in the standby state, and in order to make cancellation, it is necessary to wait until execution of each calibration is started, and therefore, the printing chances are lessened. There is provided a mechanism to display kinds of jobs in which printing is recommended at the point of time of end of each calibration and to enable cancellation of the calibration function of calibrations other than effective calibration after the effective calibration is executed.

  • Publication number: 20150178606
Abstract: In some cases, automatic selection of two colors closer to those of a document may increase the amount of toner consumed, as compared to user's manual selection. Provided is a device to determine a color which forms the document and perform automatic switching between modes of setting of a specified color, in which the switching enables a mode of setting in which a region of a primary color is adopted in larger amounts than a region of a secondary color.

  • Patent number: 8767232
Abstract: An image processing apparatus determines one of a plurality of parameters as a parameter used for line width correction of an image based on a comparison between the images of the straight lines obtained by reading printed straight lines subjected to line width correction using the plurality of parameters and an image of a straight line as a reference image which is to be obtained by reading the straight line printed in a predetermined line width.

  • Patent number: 8442354
Abstract: In recording an image file that is shot by panoramic image shooting, a plurality of pieces of image data are recorded in the image file, and therefore there is a problem that the file size increases. Although it is possible to reduce the file size by applying higher compression processing using JPEG or the like, there is a problem that the image degradation appears noticeably. With respect to an input image file, it is determined whether or not it is the one obtained by panoramic image shooting, and then at the time of recording, one of two overlap areas is deleted and the positional information on the other overlap area is attached. Thereafter, at the time of transmission or printing, the overlap area is restored based on the attached positional information. In this manner, the file size at the time of recording is reduced without degrading the image.
