Patent number: 8194316Abstract: It is aimed to reduce the occurrence of crosstalk attributable to the thermal expansion/contraction of a retarder and an image display section, and the unevenness in color attributable to the uneven surfaces of the retarder and the image display section. It is also aimed to reduce the misalignment of the retarder with respect to the image display section. The exit surface of an image display section 130 and the entrance surface of a retarder 180 are adhered to each other by using an adhesion layer 300. Additionally, the left and right edges of the image display section 130 are adhered to the left and right edges of the retarder 180 by using adhesion regions 400. Here, the adhesion regions 400 have a higher glass transition temperature than the adhesion layer 300.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2008Date of Patent: June 5, 2012Assignee: Arisawa Mfg. Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshiyuki Tamura, Kei Fukaishi, Yuichi Kakubari, Hideki Ohshima

Patent number: 5726719Abstract: The projection-type color display device of the invention includes: a white light source; a splitting means for splitting white light emitted from the white light source into a first, a second, and a third beam having respectively different wavelength regions; a modulation means for modulating the first, the second and the third beams; an irradiation means for irradiating the first, the second and the third beams onto a principal surface of the modulation means at respectively different angles; and a projection means for projecting the first, the second and the third beams modulated by the modulation means. In the projection-type color display device, the first beam includes a color beam having a weakest intensity among the beams in three primary colors contained in the white light; and a direction of the first beam incident onto the principal surface of the modulation means is closer to a normal of the principal surface of the modulation means as compared with the second and the third beams.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1995Date of Patent: March 10, 1998Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Naoyuki Tanaka, Hiroshi Hamada, Hiroshi Nakanishi, Hideki Ohshima

Patent number: 4265128Abstract: A frequency selector (tuner) employs a turret to select the position of a slide member that is coupled to a variable reactance. The slide member is moved away from the turret by depressing an operating member and returns to the turret when the operating member is released. Depressing the operating member rotates the turret concurrently with the movement of the slide member, but interference between the slide member and cooperating position setting elements that project from the turret is avoided by a displacement mechanism on the slide member. The projection of the position setting elements is adjusted by turning the operating member. A further operating member is provided for turning the turret in opposite directions, the final position of the slide member being set by depressing the first-mentioned operating member.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1979Date of Patent: May 5, 1981Assignee: Nihon Technical Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Hideki Ohshima
