    Abstract: A voltage regulator includes a first multi-gate transistor, a differential stage, a second stage having a second multi-gate transistor, and a pass transistor to apply an output voltage and output current to a device load. Based on a feedback voltage associated with the output voltage, the differential stage modulates a bias voltage applied to a control electrode of the pass transistor. A first gate of the second multi-gate transistor generates a nominal bias current for the pass transistor, and the second gate adjusts the bias voltage based on an output of the differential stage so that transients in the regulator output voltage resulting from sudden changes in current drawn by the device load are reduced.

The first transistor is configured to provide a load current to the output terminal at a desired voltage level based on a control signal on the control terminal. The feedback circuit is coupled to the output terminal and is configured to generate a feedback signal based on an actual voltage level at the output terminal. The control circuit is configured to provide, based on the feedback signal, the control signal at a level to substantially maintain an output voltage at the output terminal at the desired voltage level. An operating current of the control circuit is configured to increase, by a limited amount, responsive to a transient increase in the load current.

The air direction changing unit is disposed within a space surrounded by the reflector and the cover glass, and outside an emitted light path of light reflected by the reflector. Cooling air within the space is exhausted outside the projector through the cooling fan.

In the case where the updating process is completed by any other one of the processors, each of the processor reads out the updated data. On the contrary, in the case where any other one of the processors fails in executing the updating process, each of the processors executes the updating process for updating data which has not successfully been updated. Having performed the above, each of the processors can access the shared memory in cooperation with each other.

An image display device such as an LCD projector has been configured such that cooling air is introduced into the interior of a reflector to cool an lamp means. In this connection, the present invention adopts a net of an expanded metal structure which serves as both means for preventing the scatter of broken pieces of a lamp upon burst of the lamp and an air deflecting plate facing a portion to be cooled. The above two functions can be attained simultaneously by such a simple construction.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal displaying device uses an inexpensive incandescent lamp or xenon lamp without sacrificing luminous intensity of a reflector, while maintaining an ease of installation. In the displaying device, a liquid crystal displaying panel, an incandescent lamp, a reflector, a lens and a heat-ray absorbing filter have a common optical axis and are secured to a bracket. The lamp is held by a socket and installed on the bracket transversely to the optical axis of the reflecting surface of the reflector. Further, the liquid crystal displaying panel has polarizing plates on both sides thereof. A coating to diffuse light from the lamp is disposed on one of the polarizing plates on the light incident side of the displaying panel. The polarizing direction of the polarizing plate on the other side of the displaying panel is selected so that the polarizing direction of the incident light waves on a reflective layer which is disposed on the front windshield glass provides a transversal or horizontal wave.
