Abstract: A sorting apparatus which separates a work according to a predetermined standard flowing on a production line and arrays the work in one column is characterized by being equipped with a carrying-in line carrying in the work, a work identifying machine provided on the way of the carrying-in line, a plurality of columns of temporary accumulating units installed neighboring the carrying-in line at an approximately same height as the carrying-in line, a plurality of trays provided respectively corresponding to the temporary accumulating units of plurality of columns of temporary accumulating units, a pusher pushing out a work which flows in said carrying-in line into one column of the temporary accumulating units based on a result identified by the work identifying machine, and a transfer machine gripping/transferring a predetermined number of works all together to the trays corresponding to the temporary accumulating units when the predetermined number of works is accumulated in a temporary accumulating unit.

Abstract: A receiving surface (625) for use in the supersonic welding of the welding boss (620) of an M cassette tape reel (612a) is composed of the lower surface of a ring portion (626) which is formed so as to extend annularly along the base end of a hub central portion (621) formed in the bottom surface (616a) of a lower reel (616) and also which is projected downward (in FIG. 2) by a given amount from the bottom surface (616a). That is, the receiving surface (625) is situated slightly outside in the radial direction from directly below the welding boss (620).

Abstract: A magnetic tape cartridge in which, to provide a connection between a magnetic tape and a leader tape, any additional steps which lower the productivity, such as the step of using an adhesive, are avoided, the manufacturing process is almost the same as a conventional process, and a positive connection between the leader tape and the magnetic tape is ensured. A single reel having a magnetic tape wound thereon is housed in the cartridge, and a leader tape is connected to an end of the magnetic tape, wherein the leader tape can be drawn out from an opening of the cartridge by a tape-drawing device of a recording/reproducing unit to enable tape travel.
