  • Publication number: 20080062571
Abstract: A head suspension assembly has a flexure partly fixed to a head suspension. The flexure is made of a single plate material. The flexure defines at least a thin portion and a thick portion. The thin portion is received on the head suspension for supporting a head slider. The thin portion has a first thickness. The thick portion is formed at a position outside the contour of the head suspension. The thick portion has a second thickness larger than the first thickness. The thick portion exhibits a sufficient rigidity. The thick portion can thus be aligned with a receiving member in a facilitated manner. Moreover, the thin portion of the flexure has the first thickness smaller than the second thickness. The thin portion has a reduced rigidity. A reduced rigidity allows the thin portion or head slider to enjoy a responsive change in the attitude.

  • Publication number: 20070269021
Abstract: The tip end of the bonding tip is defined between first and second edges. A first inclined surface gets remoter from a first terminal at a position remoter from the first edge. The second inclined surface likewise gets remoter from the first terminal at a position remoter from the second edge. The solder is contoured by first and second contours on the first terminal. The second terminal is located on the solder between the first and second contours. The tip end of the bonding tip is urged against the second terminal. Heat is transferred from the bonding tip to the solder. The melted solder spreads into gaps between the second terminal and the first and second inclined surfaces. The solder is thus prevented from spreading outside the contour of the first terminal. This results in a reliable avoidance of a short circuit between the adjacent first terminals.

  • Patent number: 6951026
Abstract: A compact inexpensive optical disk drive adaptable to high-density optical disks is provided by improving a loading mechanism for an optical disk. A mechanism for loading an optical disk, in or from which information is optically recorded or reproduced, into the body of an optical disk drive is mounted on a chassis. The loading mechanism consists of a spindle motor, a lift plate, and a sheet loader. The spindle motor rotates an optical disk. The spindle motor is placed on the lift plate. The sheet loader moves the lift plate vertically to the chassis so as to attach or detach the spindle motor to or from the optical disk. In the storage device, the tilt of the lift plate relative to the chassis is adjusted at three points on the lift plate. Blade springs for constraining the lift plate to move towards the optical disk are interposed between the chassis and lift plate.

  • Patent number: 6675933
Abstract: An exhaust pipe is branched into a right side connecting portion and a connecting portion. The right side connecting portion is connected to a first muffler while the connecting portion is connected to a second muffler through a space under a boundary between a driver's seat and a passenger's seat. It is possible to eliminate the need for reducing the thickness of a portion, corresponding to each of the driver's seat and the passenger's seat, of a cushioning material of the seat and to ensure a sufficient range of vertical movement of a rear wheel. The aforementioned arrangement permits the weight of the exhaust system to be reduced without sacrificing the cushioning characteristic of the seat and the range of vertical movement of the rear wheel.
