  • Patent number: 5603667
Abstract: A golf club head of which the face height is larger than the sole width, a so-called "iron" club, having at least the striking face made of a copper or copper alloy or plated with a copper.

  • Patent number: 5386996
Abstract: The present invention provides a golf club head made of at least a first and second head components formed integrally with each other. A metallic material of the first head component is different in kind from that of the second head component. At an anti-disjoining device such as a projection, concavity or the like is formed, as a part of the head, on all or a part of an end face of the first head component, which is to join the second head component. Further a metallic material having a melting point 200.degree. C. or more below that of the metallic material of the first head component is cast to the first head component to integrally join the end faces of the first and second head components, thereby forming the second head component.

  • Patent number: 4896885
Abstract: Golf clubs and of the wood type have a relation between the axis of the shaft and the hitting spot on the head face thereof such that, under the assumption that the relation between the axis of the shaft and the head face both thereof in a plane squarely facing a golfer using the golf clubs is negative when the hitting spot is before the axis in the direction of ball's flight and positive when the hitting spot is after the axis in that direction, the distance y between the axis and hitting spot is greater than -3 mm and this is attributable to bending of the neck of the head, the shaft being straight.

  • Patent number: 4895367
Abstract: A golf club set comprises first and second groups of golf clubs, the first group of clubs being of the wood type and the second group of clubs being of the ion type, each of the clubs in the set comprising a shaft connected to a head at one end of said shaft, each, of the shafts having an axis X passing through the center of the shaft, each of the heads having a sole, a hitting face for hitting a golf ball and a hitting spot which is the point of contact between the striking face and the ball when the sole of the club is squarely set on the playing surface, the hitting face being inclined to define a loft angle, each of the clubs having a distance y which is the distance between the axis X and a vertical axis X' passing through the hitting spot, the axes X and X' lying in a plane perpendicular to the hitting face, the wood type clubs and the iron type clubs each being designated by a number which is a single digit, the greater the loft angle of the club the higher the digit by which the club is designated, an

  • Patent number: 4713686
Abstract: This high speed, instantaneous multi-image recorder comprises a video camera, sensor unit and light projector. A frame memory is connected to the video camera, a flashtube is to the light projector, a retarder is to the sensor unit. The flashtube is connected to the retarder, and a monitor is connected to the frame memory. The video camera, sensor unit and light projected are placed as directed toward a moving object which is, for example, a golf club. When the golfer swings the club, the sensor unit detects the club, the light projector flashes, and the video camera picks up the golf ball and club head around the moment of impacting. Thus, the video camera catches many instantaneous poses within a frame. Many such images picked up in a signal frame of the video camera are displayed on the monitor screen for analysis.
