  • Publication number: 20040214010
Abstract: The present invention relates to a glass for freezers and refrigerators and a glass article formed of the glass, and its technical problem to be solved is to secure a sufficient thermal insulating ability, reduce the cost, prevents dew condensation without consuming extra power energy as well as secure desired transparency. In the glass for freezers and refrigerators, a tin oxide film and a silicon oxide film are laminated on a surface of the glass substrate in this order, and a tin oxide film with fluorine added (low-radiation layer) is formed on the silicon oxide film. The glass is installed in a freezer or refrigerator such that a surface of the glass formed with the low-radiation layer faces onto the inside of the freezer or refrigerator. A glass article in which is used one or more sheets of the above glass, such as a multi-layered glass, with improved thermal insulation can be obtained.

  • Publication number: 20030186064
Abstract: When a ZnO layer is formed as a dielectric layer on an amorphous layer, a columnar crystal structure of ZnO is put into disorder whereby not only the amorphous layer but also the dielectric layer function as a barrier for preventing the invasion of moisture and gas from outside whereupon durability of a metal layer (Ag) is improved.

  • Patent number: 5179318
Abstract: A cathode-ray tube having a face plate which includes a phosphor layer provided at the inner surface side of a glass plate and an optical interference filter provided between the phosphor layer and the inner surface of the plate. The optical interference filter is constituted by high- and low-refractive index layers. The outermost layer of the optical interference filter in contact with the phosphor layer is an Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 layer or a ZrO.sub.2 layer having a physical thickness of 10 nm or more. The high-refractive index layer of the optical interference filter preferably consists of TiO.sub.2, and its low-refractive index layer preferably consists of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3.
