  • Patent number: 7843529
Abstract: A LCD unit (116) has a first and a second LCD panels (261, 262) which are stacked one on another. The first LCD panel (261) includes a color filter layer (251), and is configured as a color LCD panel for performing a color display. The second LCD panel (262) is configured as a monochrome LCD panel for performing a monochrome display based on an image source. The first LCD panel (261) displays an image, which is obtained by averaging the image data of the image source by using an arithmetic unit, which averages the image data pixels disposed within a range specific distance apart from a central pixel.

  • Patent number: 7839470
Abstract: Within a reflective display section R, a part of a light that reaches a reflective electrode through a color filter exits to the outside through slits and a part of a light that reaches the reflective electrode through the slits exits to the outside through the color filter. In addition, a light reaching the reflective electrode through the color filter and exiting to the outside through the color filter, and a light having no opportunity to pass through the slits also can be observed. Therefore, a mean film thickness of color filter through which all lights pass during the time in which they travel the associated distance after they are inputted to the inside until they are outputted to the outside becomes nearly equal to that could be observed in the transmissive section T.

  • Publication number: 20100043642
Abstract: An exhaust-gas treatment system for treating exhaust gas from a semiconductor manufacturing line, an ICD manufacturing line, etc., is disclosed. The exhaust gas, which is sucked and guided by a blower fan 16, is first introduced and passed through a deodorizing layered active carbon filter 12 acting as a pre-filter. Consequently, the entrained odoriferous substances in a gaseous phase or a vapor phase, or both, are removed. The resulting exhaust gas is then passed thorough a bag-filter element 14 to remove its dust, etc. The bag-filter element 14 cannot be clogged at an early stage, since the odoriferous substances, which are in a gaseous phase or a vapor phase, or both, have had their high adhesive properties removed by the pre-filter 12.

  • Patent number: 7649597
Abstract: A semi-transmission type liquid crystal display that maximizes the luminance in reflection mode and transmission mode. The liquid crystal display comprises a lower substrate with thin film transistors, an opposite substrate facing the lower substrate, a liquid crystal layer between the lower substrate and the opposite substrate, a reflection electrode formed in a reflection area of the lower substrate, a transparent electrode formed in a transparent area of the lower substrate, a common electrode formed on the opposite substrate, and a drive circuit for applying a voltage between the reflection electrode and the transparent electrode and the common electrode. The potential difference between a drive voltage applied to that surface of the lower substrate which contacts the liquid crystal layer and a drive voltage applied to that surface of the opposite substrate which contacts the liquid crystal layer is lower in the reflection area than in the transparent area.

  • Patent number: 7609343
Abstract: In a semi-transmissive liquid crystal display device, the thickness of liquid crystal layer in the reflective region can be adjusted by controlling the film thickness of the organic insulating film for reflection and the film thickness of the color layer for reflection. Furthermore, the thickness of liquid crystal layer in the transmissive region can be adjusted by controlling the film thickness of the organic insulating film for transmission and the film thickness of the color layer for transmission. Since the thicknesses of liquid crystal layer in the reflective region and that in the transmissive region can be adjusted, the reflectance in the reflective region and the transmittance in the transmissive region can each be set at the most appropriate values.

  • Publication number: 20090183472
Abstract: The purpose of this invention is to provide a pleated-type filter used for an apparatus for collecting dust that is optimally designed and to provide the apparatus for collecting dust using the filter, wherein the pleated-type filter can keep the resistance to its ventilation low when the filter is installed in the apparatus for collecting dust so that the pleats are directed vertically, and wherein the area for installing the main bodies of the pleated-type filters can be reduced as much as possible. The ratio of the apertures of the pleats (P/H) that is defined by the intervals (P) between the crests of adjacent pleats of the main body and the heights (H) of its pleats ranges from 0.1 to 0.3. The ratio is determined based on the relationship between the area for installing the pleated-type filters and the ratio of the apertures of the pleats (P/H).
