  • Patent number: 4537530
Abstract: The present invention aims at providing a method and a device therefor which can effectively as well as accurately bury a cable under marine beds not only when a cable is newly laid and buried but also when a cable has to be reburied. The method and the device according to the present invention are characterized in that a burying device is guided to approach the cable by using a travelling member provided on said burying device, a travelling control mechanism thereof being controlled by a receiving output from a transmitter which is mounted on the cable in advance by a receiver provided on the burying device, that the cable is caught and held by a cable engaging member of said burying device while the burying device is detecting the buried cable track and travelling therealong, and that at the same time an excavation member of said burying device digs and forms a groove while the burying device guides and buries the cable within the excavated groove.

  • Patent number: 4452155
Abstract: A method for incinerating material is disclosed wherein a vertical thermal reactor of the fluidized bed type is employed, the reactor being generally a rectangular shape in a horizontal section and having opposed side walls. Fluidizing medium is subjected to different mass flow at the center portion and the side portions so that relatively strong side fluidized beds are formed adjacent the side walls and a relatively weak fluidized bed is formed at the center sandwiched by the side fluidized beds free of any obstructions therebetween. The center fluidized bed tends to descend relative to the side fluidized beds which are deflected at the upper portions thereof, respectively toward the center so that the fluidized medium circulates from the lower part of the center fluidized bed to the lower parts of the side fluidized beds and from the upper parts of the side fluidized beds towards the upper part of the center fluidized bed.

  • Patent number: 4430296
Abstract: A molybdenum-based alloy improved in mechanical strength and hot workability, which consists of 0.01 to 5.0% by weight of vanadium, 10 to 100 ppm of boron, 10 to 1,000 ppm of carbon, and the balance of molybdenum.

  • Patent number: 4419330
Abstract: A fluidized bed type thermal reactor having a furnace housing wherein there is substantially no partition wall and adapted to generate a downwardly descending moving bed portion and whirling fluidized bed portions at opposite lateral sides of the moving bed, respectively, whereby pre-shredding or crushing of material to be charged into the furnace is made substantially unnecessary. The reactor is provided with a unique feeder for charging the material so that the incombustible items the size of which is not suitable to be charged into the furnace are rejected by reversing the feeding direction of the feeder when the presence of such items is sensed.

  • Patent number: 4323984
Abstract: A small, highly reliable and inexpensive switching equipment, in which digital signals to be switched, stored as the presence or absence of magnetic domains in a first magnetic sheet or applied as the presence or absence of light to a flat plane formed by bundles of optical fibers, are switched by switching condition determining signals stored as the presence or absence of magnetic domains in a second magnetic sheet.

  • Patent number: 4200924
Abstract: A logical operation circuit for performing a desired logical operation by transferring at least one magnetic bubble on a plurality of magnetic bubble transfer routes paths employing chevron patterns, in which two neighboring ones of the magnetic bubble transfer routes provides with a first magnetic bubble transfer section which is formed by narrowed transfer routes or by magnetic bubble elongating means, so that a magnetic bubble transferred through one of the two magnetic bubble transfer routes is stably held across the two magnetic bubble transfer routes of the first magnetic bubble transfer section, while two magnetic bubbles transferred through the two magnetic bubble transfer routes on the two magnetic bubble transfer routes respectively.

  • Patent number: 3975710
Abstract: A character pattern recognition method and apparatus for recognizing an unknown character pattern in accordance with a correlation between the unknown character pattern and each known standard character pattern, in which the unknown character pattern is temporarily stored in a magnetic thin plate in a form of a magnetic domain pattern. The magnetic domain pattern is modified by varying the bias magnetic field on the magnetic thin plate to provide a modified unknown character pattern emphasizing the feature of the unknown character pattern stored in the magnetic thin plate. The modified unknown character pattern is compared with each known modified feature enhanced standard character pattern to obtain the correlation.

  • Patent number: 3974487
Abstract: A magnetic bubble transmission system in which a magnetic bubble is retained in a magnetic thin plate under an appropriate bias magnetic field applied to said magnetic thin plate in a direction perpendicular thereto and in which said magnetic bubble is transmitted by reducing and restoring the intensity of the bias magnetic field. A single conductor line is disposed in close contact with the magnetic thin plate. Magnetic patterns magnetostatically coupling with the magnetic bubble are disposed along the conductor to develop at least one desired transmission path of the magnetic bubble line in such a manner that their width are monotoneously reduced at regular intervals in the desired transmission path of the magnetic bubble. The intensity of the bias magnetic field in the area extending along said conductor line is reduced and restored by a pulse current flowed in the conductor line. The transmission step of the magnetic bubble can be controlled by changing the level of the pulse current.
