  • Patent number: 10253780
Abstract: A fan control apparatus is provided for the computer equipment including a fan, a temperature sensor, and a device module (e.g. an add-in card) mounting at least two devices aligned along an air flow. The fan control apparatus determines a revolving speed of the fan for cooling each device based on an inlet temperature and a usage rate of each device. In addition, the fan control apparatus estimates an inlet temperature of a second device, which is disposed in the downstream side of a first device among at least two devices, based on an inlet temperature and a usage rate of the first device. Thus, it is possible to control the fan to cause an adequate amount of cooling air for cooling devices mounted on the device module installed in the computer equipment.

  • Publication number: 20070101191
Abstract: A computer system of the present invention includes cells each of which includes a CPU and a memory, and partitions each of which is configured by combining any number of the cells. A service processor and a control element which controls reading and writing data for memory dumping are provided with the computer system. The cells includes a spare cell which does not belong to any of the partitions. If any of the partitions shuts down because of a system crash, the service processor disconnects the cell in the partition in which the system crash has occurred from the partition with memory information contained in the memory in the cell being held, and sets the spare cell into the partition. After the partition is booted, the control element writes the memory information contained in the memory in the disconnected cell onto the recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20020082179
Abstract: In cleaning operation using dry ice pellets, a bridging phenomenon of the dry ice pellets occurs. Also, static electricity is generated, so a good cleaning effect cannot be obtained. This invention is directed to solve these problems. In order to solve these problems, a cleaning apparatus has a blast nozzle, a device for pneumatically feeding a carrier gas to the blast nozzle, and a device for supplying dry ice pellets to the blast nozzle, and blasts a cleaning object (W) with the dry ice pellets, together with the carrier gas, from the blast nozzle, thereby cleaning a surface of the cleaning object (W). This cleaning apparatus includes an air supplying device for supplying destaticizing air to a cleaning portion of the cleaning object (W) to be cleaned by the blast nozzle, and a charging device for charging the destaticizing air with a polarity opposite to the polarity of the charged dry ice pellets.
